Sounds about right.

It just blows peoples minds.
Talking to James yesterday about all this SMC Nonsense and I told him I would tell Charlie straight to his face that he could suck my dick.
"They would just walk you right out the door."
"Well good, I about had enough of this place anyway, might as well go out with a bang. I don't care anymore."
"You'll think that till it happens."
"Doubtful...at this point? Right now in my life? Doubtful, this is so obvious some fucking suits idea that has no clue how to conduct business with his partners. I mean seriously, does this seem like something that somebody from the MIT Sloan School of Management would sign off on? Or does it seem like some mental midgets idea about how to conduct business?
It aint that hard to figure out."

People just are so intimidated by some of the people around here for no reason it's sickening.
People been scared of being fired since I walked in this room over four years ago.
What kind of life is that?
1) Don't ever give them reason too.
2) But if you do, give them enough reason that they will always remember you had enough balls to speak your mind to them is what I say.

(I had a supervisor when I was working construction come tell me that he needed to walk me to the gate. (They were letting me go) It was lunch time, we were all sitting around eating. I jumped up and grabbed my toolbox and said "Lets fucking go then." Joanna was pregnant with Nicholas at the time. Supervisor just looked at me like "Oh shit." yeah, not what he expected. I said "Well? Whats the hold up?"
"I was just kidding."
"I got a pregnant wife at home and you're gonna come up here and pull some stupid shit like that with me? in front of everyone? Guy was like 5'3" 135 lbs. "Don't you ever, I mean ever, do it a fuckin gain."
They put me on the wire pulling crew.
They thought I would quit.
Think I did?
I think you know that answer.

Fucking hate it when people underestimate me.
Especially the ones that don't know shit about me.

I had profit and loss responsibility for a 3 million dollar a year business.
I had three managers underneath me.
I had exceedingly high standards.
You didn't meet them?
You would hear about it.
In private.
You met or exceeded them?
You heard about that in front of everyone.
Treat people with respect they give it back and will bust their ass for you.
Treat them like three years olds?
They are liable to tell you to go fuck yourself someday.

I love what Tony always says:
"Who are they when they walk out that door?"
Nobody.
Just some other putz.
For too many people around here (and probably from what I can tell in the IT field having been in it now for nine years) the highlight of their day is coming to work.

How sad.
