actually once heard an evangelist
who had graduated from seminary
say:
"Some people will tell you
there are multiple resurrections
I don't believe in it."
It was the only thing he said
that I didn't agree with.
I spoke with him after his sermon
and I honestly liked him as a person
but I told him I disagreed with him
about there only being one resurrection.
He asked
"How so?"
I said well if Christ was the first,
then there obviously
has to me more than one,
plus the two witnesses
(Not technically a resurrection BTW)
and then there are multiple verse
supporting
a resurrection of the just
and one of the wicked."
He just kinda smiled
and we moved on to other topics.
All that being said?
I am glad I didn't go to seminary :-).
Daniel 12:2
And many of them
that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life,
and some to shame
and everlasting contempt.
Acts 24:15
And have hope toward God,
which they themselves also allow,
that there shall be
a resurrection of the dead,
both
of the just
and
unjust.
And the nail in the coffin
of the issue so to speak:
John 5:28-29
Marvel not at this:
for the hour is coming,
in the which all that are in the graves
shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth;
they that have done good,
unto the resurrection of life;
and they that have done evil,
unto the resurrection of damnation.
Its why there are two judgements
The Judgement seat of Christ for believers
See:
And
The
White Throne Judgement
for the wicked,
who are judged according
to their wicked deeds.
See:
Where is it complicated?
The only thing that
makes it difficult is
nobody ever told you so.
Pretty much easy-peasy
as far as I am concerned.
Did I mention I was glad
I didn't go to seminary?
Hebrews 5:12-14
The Message
Re-Crucifying Jesus
11-14 I have a lot more to say about this, but it is hard to get it across to you since you’ve picked up this bad habit of not listening. By this time you ought to be teachers yourselves, yet here I find you need someone to sit down with you and go over the basics on God again, starting from square one—baby’s milk, when you should have been on solid food long ago! Milk is for beginners, inexperienced in God’s ways; solid food is for the mature, who have some practice in telling right from wrong.
