out that the gas was turned off because a new gas meter was installed.

Doesn't make any sense to me because the hot water heater stayed working but whatever, the guy said the furnace was fine which is what had me so concerned. 

So mom asked if my bill was up to date. 

Yeah, I said, its only the furnace and the hot water heater that are gas and I haven't been using the furnace so the bills have been like $8. I'm sure it's up to date. 

She goes to the gas company to see whats up. 

Turns out there is a state law that when they install a new meter they have to disconnect the gas. Anyway, she went with the guy back to the house and he turned the gas on. 

$0.00 for furnace repairs, $0.00 for reconnect fee. 

Awesome. 

All around good day.
