In August of 81 Ronald Reagan fired 11,000 air traffic controllers for going on strike.
"They have just shown you what they are all about." my dad said to me.
I was 17.
"They are out to destroy the middle class of this country".

Union membership has since steadily decreased, as have wages for union and non-union workers when adjusted for inflation, ever sense.

Like I said.
Smart man.
Could have done whatever he wanted.
