A Tree and Its Fruit
“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.
Each tree is recognized by its own fruit.
People do not pick figs from thornbushes,

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart,
and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.
For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

“‘though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.’
Luke 8:15
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”
Luke 11:8
I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship,
yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
(Be bold I think somebody was saying the other day :-).
Luke 11:49
Because of this, God in his wisdom said,
‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute.’
Luke 12:47-48
