Joel 2:1-2
Blow the trumpet in Zion;
sound the alarm on my holy hill.
Let all who live in the land tremble,
for the day of the Lord is coming.
It is close at hand—
a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness.
Like dawn spreading across the mountains
a large and mighty army comes,
such as never was in ancient times
nor ever will be in ages to come.
"Such as never was in ancient times"
Let that sink in for a second.
Noah, Moses, King David, all the prophets,
all the great old story's of miracles in the bible?
They are going to be outdone in the end of days.
If you don't honestly believe the miracles happened then?
How are you going to come to believe they are going to be outdone now?
You're going to see them thats how.
Nothing gets a revival started like people witnessing miracles.
It did it at the start of the church, it will do it again here shortly.
Think about all the miracles that transpired.
Moses alone should be enough to send tremors down your back.
Micah 7:15
“As in the days when you came out of Egypt,
I will show them my wonders.”
Jesus Levitated.
Matthew 14:22-33
Jesus miraculously appeared behind locked doors:
John 20:19
Peter walked on water:
Matthew 14:29
Phillip transported:
Acts 8:39-40
Jesus disappeared from sight:
Luke 24:31
The apostles were given the power to heal in Christ name:
Acts 5:15–16
Acts 3:16
Elijah the prophet raised the widow of Zarephath’s son from the dead:
1 Kings 17:21-23
Multiple other resurrections happened as well:
2 Kings 4:18–37, 2 Kings 13:20–21, Luke 7:11–17, Luke 8:52–56, John 11, Matthew 27:50–53, Acts 9:36–43, Acts 20:7–12.
Healing the sick, curing the lame, just over and over again.
Yet what is coming?
Will be greater than what was done then.
"a large and mighty army comes,
such as never was in ancient times"
How?
Why?
People might ask.
It's really pretty simple, because in the end times, God's people will reap not only the harvest (of souls) of what was planted in the ancient times, but also, they will sew and reap their own harvest of people for the lord.
Acts 2:19
Even on My servants, both men and women, I will pour out My Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and clouds of smoke.
I read somewhere that most of the time in the Old Testament when righteousness was given it was given in the form of drops.
In the end of days?
Like a river.
"I will pour out My Spirit in those days"
This army?
This:
"large and mighty army...
such as never was in ancient times?"
It also:
"nor ever will be in ages to come"
Again, I can hear people asking,
Why?
Why would an army of the lord with this strength, this kind of might,
why would it never be equaled or surpassed in the ages to come?
The answer ought to be pretty obvious.
The lord only needs this army one time.
There will never be a need for an army like this ever again.
"for the day of the Lord is coming.
It is close at hand"
If you call yourself a Christian but you don't believe in the miracles of ancient times?
You might want to find a way to rethink that.
Miraculous things greater than those that took place are on the way.
I know.
I've seen them starting to happen already.
That was just the first two verses :-).
Only 30 more to go Lucy.
Kind of like the revelation project I got going on :-).
Homework Brother Joe calls it :-).
Much acknowledgement must be given to John Crowder and his book, The new Mystics, like I said, I don't think it was an accident I came across that book when I did that Reference Bible, or as Brother Joe told me the other day:
"Nothing is an accident Andrew."
Love y'all.
