"Mission scientist John Sonntag spotted the ice holes some 50 miles northwest of Canada’s Mackenzie River Delta, and he was a little perplexed by what he saw.
"We saw these sorta-circular features only for a few minutes today," Sonntag said in his field observations. "I don’t recall seeing this sort of thing elsewhere."
