First

of all condolences to the families of the fallen.
Sympathy and prayers during this difficult time for you.

"Antioch, Tenn"

Bible verses about Antioch.

1) It was a home for persecuted Christians.

Acts 11:19

The Church in Antioch

"Now those who had been scattered by the persecution
that broke out when Stephen was killed traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch,
spreading the word only among Jews."

2) It was home to the first Gentile Church

Acts 11:20-21

"Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus. The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord."

3) It was where the name "Christian" originated  from.

Acts 11:26

"...the disciples were called Christians first at Antioch."

4) Barnabas and Paul ministered there.

Acts 11:22-24

"News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord."

Acts 11:25-30

"Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch."

"During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.) The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea. This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul."

5) Paul commissioned by the Church of:

Acts 13:1-4

"Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.

On Cyprus
The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus."

(Kinda like a couple other people I know Lucy.
"The time has come for him to bring his two's together."
You said five years ago or whatever.)

6) The church of Antioch was troubled by the Judaizers.

Acts 15:1-4

The Council at Jerusalem

"Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: “Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.” This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question. The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the believers very glad.  When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them."

The law (Gods commandments) doesn't save you by itself.
These people were stirring up trouble in a young church before it could get it's feet off the ground.
I wonder why?

Galatians 2:11-21

Paul Opposes Cephas

"When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.

When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?

We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.

For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

7) Paul visits the synagogue.

Acts 13:14, 42

"From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch. On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down.

As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath."

8) Jews reject the gospel

Acts 13:45-51

"When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy. They began to contradict what Paul was saying and heaped abuse on him.

Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly:
“We had to speak the word of God to you first.
Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life,
we now turn to the Gentiles.
For this is what the Lord has commanded us:

“‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
When the Gentiles heard this,
they were glad and honored the word of the Lord;
and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

The word of the Lord spread through the whole region.
But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city.
They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region.
So they shook the dust off their feet as a warning to them and went to Iconium."

8) Paul Revisits

The Return to Antioch in Syria

Acts 14:21

"They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch"

9) Paul recalls persecution at

2 Timothy 3:11

"persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them."

The father of all lies told me about this shooting today.
It's not an accident this shooting took place where it took place.
He wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't significant or had symbolism.
Were in the middle of a spiritual war already.
Most people just don't know it yet.

All you can do is be ready spiritually.
Do that?
You're good.

Love you Lucy.
You my girl Dollbaby.
