Isaiah 34 A running Commentary Point 3

Verses 1-8 Continued

Here then, is the manifesto published, setting forth, seven points to consider.

Point three

Here are the operations of the war, and the methods of it, settled, with an infallible assurance of success.

The sword of the Lord is bathed in heaven; this is all the preparation here made for the war, Isaiah 34:5, "My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens; see, it descends in judgment on Edom the people I have totally destroyed." Remember, Edom is a metaphor for the entire world. This verse probably alludes to a custom they had then of bathing their swords in some liquor to harden them or brighten them, it is the same with the polishing or brightening up of it, that it might glitter. Ezekiel 21:9-11, “Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Lord says:“‘A sword, a sword, sharpened and polished—sharpened for the slaughter,
polished to flash like lightning!“‘Shall we rejoice in the scepter of my royal son? The sword despises every such stick.“‘ The sword is appointed to be polished, to be grasped with the hand; it is sharpened and polished, made ready for the hand of the slayer. God's sword is bathed in Heaven, in his guidance and legal order, in his justice and power.

It shall come down. What he has determined shall without fail be put in execution (Sound familiar Lucy? Like we got a choice lol? How many years ago did I say I wish people understood that I didn't have a choice about what I was doing, pursuing you?, these matters?, all one in the same really). God's sword will come down from heaven, and the higher the place it is, when it comes, the heavier it will fall. It will come down upon Edom (The world), the people of God's curse, the people that lie under his curse and are because of it doomed to destruction. Miserable, forever miserable, are those that have by their sins made themselves the people of God's curse; for the sword of the Lord will be unfailing in effectiveness and operation, it will attend to the curse of the Lord and execute the sentences of it; and those whom he curses are cursed indeed. (Pretty sure I know a lil something about that which was just spoken. I've seen it. Multiple times now.)

God's sword shall come down to judgement, to execute judgment upon sinners. God's sword of war is always a sword of justice. it is observed of him out of whose mouth goeth the sharp sword that in righteousness he does judge and make war. Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Revelation 19:11, The Heavenly Warrior Defeats the Beast "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.Revelation 19:5, Then a voice came from the throne, saying:“Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!”

Owning it

It's still an accident that Mendenhall reference Bible fell in my lap? Really? That's God's sword. His word. It can not be defeated. Ever. By anyone. I'm just going to own it and let the pieces fall where they may, people wanna think little or play small ball or run because they're scared? Even believers? Sucks for them. Let them run. I said on here years ago I have come to challenge the religious and political establishment of the day and I come armed with the sharpened, forged, double edge word of God and a warrior prophetess whose got my back like I can't even begin to explain. Wage war? Us? You betcha. Get on board, or get out of the way, cause you won't stop this. (What he has determined shall without fail be put in execution.) All his servants? His servants are the prophets. God's preachers. Sent to deliver his message. No denominations. No hindrance of theology etc. He says, "Go tell them what I'm telling you to go tell them, your recompense is waiting" I say, "Not a problem".

The nations and their armies shall be given up to the sword. Isaiah 34:2 "The Lord is angry with all nations;
his wrath is on all their armies. He will totally destroy them, he will give them over to slaughter." God has delivered them to the slaughter, and they can not deliver themselves, nor can all the friends they have deliver them from it. I said years ago, and there were witnesses, "You can not fight the supernatural with the physical".  Those are only slain whom God delivers to the slaughter, for the keys of death are in his hand; and in delivering them to the slaughter, he has utterly destroyed them, their destruction is as sure when God has declared it, as if they were destroyed already. God has, in effect, delivered all the cruel enemies of his church to the slaughter by that word Rev. 13:10,  “If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.”
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people."

Well why would God wanna slaughter people?

He doesn't.

2 peter 3:9

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,
as some understand slowness.
Instead he is patient with you,
not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come to repentance."

People did it to themselves.
