That all attempts against the church should be baffled,
and she should be secured from the intention
or desire to do her evil by her enemies.
(You too Lucy, metaphor personified and all sweetheart)
Verses 14-17
In righteousness you will be established:
Tyranny will be far from you;
you will have nothing to fear.
Terror will be far removed;
it will not come near you.
15 If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing;
whoever attacks you will surrender to you.
16 “See, it is I who created the blacksmith
who fans the coals into flame
and forges a weapon fit for its work.
And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;
17 no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and this is their vindication from me,”
declares the Lord.
Whereas she now she lay in danger? God promises that which would be her protection and security. God tells us here that though in the day of her distress, with fighting without and her fears within? Now? Now she shall be safe from both.
There will be no fear within. Isaiah 54:14. In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you." Those that have oppressed you shall be removed, those that would oppress you shall be restrained. Therefore, there is no reason to fear. (What did you say this AM Lucy?) It's like looking at something from a great distance and knowing you're not in danger from it. You shall be far from terror. Not just evil, but also from the fear of evil. Because it shall not come near us such as to do any harm or cause any fright. Those are far from terror that are far from oppression. There will be no fightings about. Though attempts should be made upon them to insult them, to invade their country or besiege their towns? They would all be in vain and none of them succeed. (Seeing it happen). Isaiah 54:15, "If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you." It is understood, they will surely gather together against us, we are to expect it. The combined forces of hell and earth will be renewing their assaults. As long as there is a Devil in hell and a persecutor out of it, God’s people must expect frequent alarms. But God will not own them, he will not give them commission or support. They gather together, joining hand in hand, but it is not by God.
Proverbs 11:21, "Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered." God gave them no such order to take the spoil, to take the prey (the wicked that is). Isaiah 10:6 "I send him against a godless nation, I dispatch him against a people who anger me, to seize loot and snatch plunder, and to trample them down like mud in the streets."
Therefore? Their attempt to commit evil against you? It will end in their own ruin. I said this a long time ago as well. I saw it coming. Clear as day. People know what I'm referencing. Whatever shall gather together against us, be they ever so many and ever so mighty? Not only will they be sent away in confusion, but they shall fall for our sake, or they shall fall before us, which shall be a just punishment of their hostility toward us. Psalm 35:4-5 "Let those who seek my life be put to shame and disgraced. Let those who plan my downfall be turned back in confusion. Let them be like husks blown by the wind as the Messenger of the Lord chases them." God will make them fall for the sake of the love he bears to his church and the care he has of it, in answers to the prayers made by his people, and in the carrying out of a plan or action of the promises made to them. Psalm 27:2 "When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell."
We may with the greatest assurance depend upon God for the safety of his church. Here? The power of God over the church's enemies is asserted. Isaiah 54:16 “See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc." The truth is they have no power but what is given them from above and he that gave them? Their power can limits and he can restrain them. Therefore, they will only go as far as he lets them and no farther. For they cannot carry on their design without arms and weapons of war and the smith that makes those weapons is God's creature, and he gave him skill to work in iron and brass. Exodus 31:3-4 "And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass" and particularly to make proper instruments for warlike purposes. How sad is it to think, as if man didn't die fast enough themselves already, how ingenious and industrious they are to make instruments of death and to find out ways and means to kill one another. The smith blows the coals in the fire to make his iron formable, to soften it first, that it may be hardened into steel and so he may bring forth an instrument proper for the work of those that seek to destroy. But God has created the smith, and therefore can tie his hands, so that the project of the enemy shall miscarry. Or the smith that forges the weapons is perhaps put here for the council of war that forms the design, blows the coals of contention, and brings forth the plan of the war; these can do no more than God will let them.
They cannot carry it on without men, they must have soldiers, and it is God that created the waster to destroy. Military men value themselves upon their great offices and splendid titles, and even the common soldiers call themselves gentlemen; but God calls them wasters made to destroy, for wasting and destruction are their business. They think their own ingenuity, labour, and experience, made them soldiers; but it was God that created them, and gave them strength and spirit for that hazardous employment; and therefore he not only can restrain them, but will serve his own purposes and designs by them.
The promise of God concerning the church’s safety solemnly laid down, as the heritage of the servants of the Lord Isaiah 54:17, "no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,”declares the Lord. Here is what we can be sure of and confident about, that God will protect them from their adversaries both in the world and it's courts. From their adversaries in the field, the ones that think to destroy by force and violence and by the blow of a sword. "No weapon that is formed against thee, however so artfully formed by the smith that blows the coals, (see verse 16 again), though ever so skillfully managed by the waster that seeks to destroy shall prosper; it shall not prove strong enough to do any harm to the people of God; it shall miss its mark, it shall fall out of the hand or perhaps recoil in the face of him that uses it against thee.’’ It is the happiness of the church that no weapons formed against it shall prosper long, and therefore the folly (Immoral behavior) of its enemies will at length be made manifest to all, for they are but preparing instruments of ruin for themselves.
From the legal adversaries, that think to run them down under the cover of right and justice. When the weapons of war do not prosper? There are tongues that rise in judgment. Both are included in the gates of hell, that seek to destroy the church. For they had their courts of justice in their gates. The tongues that rise in judgment against the church? They are as such as either demand a dominion over it, as if God’s children were their lawful captives. Pretending as they do to have an authority to oppress their consciences. Or they are such as to misrepresent them, and falsely accuse them, and by slanders and calumnies endeavour to make them odious to the people and obnoxious to the government. This is what the enemies of the Jews did, to incense the kings of Persia against them. Ezra. 4:12 "Be it known unto the king, that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the rebellious and the bad city, and have set up the walls thereof, and joined the foundations." Esther. 3:8 "And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them." But these are the types of insulting and threatening tongues shall we condemn. We shall be able to answer their crude and arrogant demands and to put to silence their harmful reflections. And how shall this be done? 1 Pt. 2:15, "For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people." By doing that which will make us manifest even in the consciences of our adversaries that we are not how we are represented to be. We shall condemn them, that is, God shall condemn them for us. He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, Psalm. 37:6, "He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun." We shall condemn them as Noah condemned the old world that expressed their disapproval of him by building the ark, his sanctuary, and so saving his house, in contempt of their contempts. The day is coming when God will reckon with the wicked men for all their hatred spoken toward him. Jude 15, "to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” The last words here refer not only to this promise, but to all that go before. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. God’s servants are his sons, for he has provided an inheritance for them, rich, sure, and unable to be overturned. (You getting all this Lucy?) God’s promises are their heritage for ever and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. Psalm 119:111, "Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart." God will clear up the righteousness of their cause before men. It is with him, for he knows it; it is with him, for he will plead it. Or their reward for their righteousness, and for all that which they have suffered unrighteously, is of God. (and he addeth no sorrow with it Proverbs 10:22 ). This is the God who judges in the earth, and with whom truly there is a reward for the righteous. (Still don't think so? Really? Okay then, have it your way, you're not gonna like it much come judgement time).
Or their righteousness itself,
all that in them
which is good and right,
is of God,
who works it in them.
It is of Christ
who is made righteousness
to them.
In those for whom
God designs a heritage hereafter?
He will work his righteousness now.
He has.
So he did.
How anybody can not believe it,
or see it when it's been displayed
right in front of them for years on end now is beyond me.
But?
It's what I was told to expect.
So it doesn't surprise me either.
I just wish people could have seen or experienced what I have.
Then they would know.
And they would prepare their hearts.
Because you can't fight the supernatural with the physical.
And it's coming.
Soon, real real soon.
(Sorry lol, had to Lucy)
That's an inside joke y'all lol.
Love ya everybody.
Peace.
It's all I want for everybody.
Promise.
