More from "The Book of Eli"

And the most fitting one of all:

The very end of the movie.
Voiced over while Eli is laying on his back
quoting the entire Bible while it's being transcribed.
He lost his bible (the only one) to the bad guy.
It turns out it was in braille and nobody could read it.
His wanderings for thirty years didn't seem to have a purpose
while he was doing so.
But by reading the bible everyday
he ended up memorizing it in it's entirety for posterity sake.

We just don't know why sometimes.
We just have to trust and go do
and know things will turn out like they should.
Right Lucy?
:-).

Love you Sweetheart.

Eli:
Dear Lord,
thank you for giving me the strength
and the conviction to complete the task you entrusted to me.
Thank you for guiding me straight and true
through the many obstacles in my path.
And for keeping me resolute when all around seemed lost.
Thank you for your protection and your many signs along the way.
Thank you for any good that I may have done,
I'm so sorry about the bad.
Thank you for the friend I made.
Please watch over her as you watched over me.
Thank you for finally allowing me to rest.
I'm so very tired,
but I go now to my rest at peace.
Knowing that I have done right with my time on this earth.
I fought the good fight,
I finished the race,
I kept the faith.
His rest was because he was dying.
My rest last night was because I have grown weary.
I love you Virgie.
I just wanna go home sweetheart.
