Verses that hit home yesterday

2 Thessalonians 1:5 

All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right,
and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 

He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might

1 Timothy 4:1 

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

2 Timothy 4:3 

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Given these last two verses? Why do people act so shocked at whats going on in the church today?
Why the surprise? I just don't get it.
Know sound doctrine and rejoice that your book is being proved true right in front of your eyes, in the very times you're living in!
