Tanker Attacks in Gulf

"It is the assessment by the United States government that the Islamic Republic of Iran is responsible for the attacks that occurred in the Gulf of Oman today,"

"This assessment is based on intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication,"

He just said it way to soon after the attacks.

Why would you say that if you had a video showing Iranian Revolutionary Guards removing an alleged mine from the side of a ship?

Why did US Central Command say it had a video showing Iranian Revolutionary Guards removing an alleged mine but wasn't going to release it, then changed it's mind and did release it?

Why would the Iranian's target a ship headed for Japan?
Japan was one of the countries allowed an exemption to purchase Iranian oil until just recently under this last round of sanctions.

I mean how does any of that that make any sense?
Hey thanks for buying all that oil from us here recently, especially with our crippled economy, Oh BTW, your PM is visiting Tehran for the first time in 40 years? Okay great, seems like perfect time for us to attack a ship headed to your country.
I mean it just doesn't add up.

The Iranians are smarter than that. They just are.

There was US aircraft in the area for four hours before the alleged Iranian boat came to remove the alleged mine from the ships hull. Again, they are just smarter than that. I mean what did they say to each other?

Oh hey the US has had enough time to be monitoring the area by now, lets go show up.

Why did the ships captain say his crew saw something flying in the air before the explosion?

There just happened to be a summit going on that got interrupted?
Nice lil coincidence.
Summit not mentioned in mainstream media BTW.

Funny to me the ships were not sunk.

Who had the means to know what the ships were carrying and their destination?

"In the hours before the attack on the two tankers in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday, the Iranians spotted a US drone flying overhead and launched a surface-to-air missile at the unmanned aircraft, a US official told CNN."

Why was this not mentioned until the day after the attacks?

Just way more questions than answers at this point.

I saw this right when it first broke.
 I immediately thought,
"Fuck, here they go again, this is us. This is just like a modern day Gulf Of Tonkin"

I mean, we would never falsify intelligence to start a war or anything would we?

So what's more likely?
That there are individuals in this country who are not happy, unless we are starting a war with someone?

Or that Iran is shooting itself in the foot?
