I found the timing and the source of the article very odd.
Almost like we were trying to tell people not to get any ideas.
Two takeaways:
1) If China and or Russia wanted world dominance?
Why aren't they building their own fleets to compete?
2) Maybe those countries just aren't worried about carriers any more and have faith in their missile systems?
This type of warfare?
Even with it's vast improvements in range and weapons is close to 80 years old now.
These things are sitting ducks.
The Russians and the Chinese know it.
Wait and see.
