Dear concerned public servants:
I am contacting you with regard to the aforementioned subject.
We are deeply distressed by the actions of Mr. Graham of your department concerning the placement of a sign for their church at the intersection highway 60 and Adair Road (St Route 1605) in Hancock County. (Where there was a sign previously.)
A member of New Chapel UMC originally contacted Mr. Graham on May 3rd regarding who they would need to speak with regarding the placement of a sign for their church at the aforementioned intersection. Mr. Graham stated he was the individual that would be able to advise in such a situation. Mr. Graham and New Chapels representative exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet when convenient for both parties. (See attached screenshot of the phone call when numbers were exchanged.)
New Chapels representative in these matters also spoke with Hancock County Judge Executive Johnny W. Roberts Jr. about this situation and was assured that a meeting with Mr. Graham would take place soon, to date there has been no meeting and no further contact from Mr. Graham.
All this for something that should have taken five minutes of Mr. Graham's time.
Just a lil bit about New Chapel UMC. It is a historic church located on grounds where people have gathered to worship as far back as 1800. It is of much historic and cultural significance to the area and does not deserve the disrespect shown to it by Mr. Graham. It is also in the beginning stages of applying for a state historical marker to be placed at the same intersection. (New Chapel is located a few miles down Adair road off Highway 60.)
We will not stop. If our gradiences are not addressed to our satisfaction we will continue up the ladder and will contact KY State Senator Matt Castlen office, Governor Steve Beshear's office, Rep. Brett Guthrie's office and if need be KY Senators Rand Paul and Mitch McConnel offices as well.
To think that a public servant would think it's acceptable to behave in such a manner to a citizen and an organization defies comprehension. Not to mention the complete waste of everybody's time and resources.
Hancock County Judge executive Johnny W. Roberts Jr. knows how to get in touch with New Chapels representative in these matters.
It should have never came to this point to begin with.
We eagerly await the resolution of these matters in an expeditious manner as possible.
Respectfully, members of a concerned religious body.
