And speaking of

"Knowing the whole story"?

"You can not overthrow

the truth."

If you want

the whole truth?

Then you have to read

the whole thing.

Otherwise?

You are just getting bits and pieces of

the whole truth.

"our people have our roots"

(Seekers of truth)

"When we search for it?

We find it in Rasta.

There is no other way.

We dont see no other way."

RASTA

Spiritual / Attitude:

In slang or conversational Patois,

being or calling someone "Rasta" can denote

a sense of being true to oneself,

free from societal shackles,

and conscious of African heritage

and natural living

("livity").

It aint nothing about

a skin color, or a country of origin

or smoking Ganja.

Marley's own words:

On what it means to be a Rasta:

"You is ya own man.

That is the first time

you own yourself.

You do what you want to do

-anything people want to say

about you,

you don't care."

And Peter Tosh:

"A rastaman speaks the truth.

He is in touch with the creator."

And Rasta has been

an big influence

in my life

since I was 19 years old.

Just your average everyday;

Feels

"Rastas place great emphasis on the idea

that personal experience and intuitive understanding

should be used to determine the truth or validity

of a particular belief or practice.

"Some Rastas consider themselves Christian, "

(This Christian,

considers himself

strongly influenced

by Rasta)

"and the religion (philosophy) has been deeply influenced by both Christian and Jewish thought; the scholar Michael Barnett called Rastafari "an Afrocentralized blend of Christianity and Judaism".Like Christianity, Rastafari treats the Bible as a holy book occupying a central place in its belief system, with Rastas often adopting a literalist interpretation of its contents. Rastas regard the Bible as an authentic account of early black African history and of their place as God's favoured people."

(Not all,

but mostly the

Ethiopian Jews,

descendants of Abraham,

that converted to Christianity

they get the inner court

with God.

Gentiles get the outer.

Revelation 11:1-2.)

"They believe the Bible to be key

to understanding

both the past

and the present

and for predicting the future,"

(YEAH, NO KIDDIN lol.)

"while also regarding it as a source book from which they can form and explain their beliefs and practices."

(YEAH, NO KIDDIN lol.)

"Rastas commonly perceive

the final book of the Bible,

the Book of Revelation,

as the most important part,

because they see its contents

as having particular significance

for the world's present situation."

(YEAH, NO KIDDIN lol.)

"A reporter ask Marley once

if you had to be black

to be a Rasta and he said,

"If you cant come black

come how god made you."

Then later he said:

"It helps"

(bein' black lol)

Anyway:

"Rasta/Sufi inspired

Christian mystic and visionary"

by the grace of  God.

Rastafari literally means:

"The power of the trinity."

It's

Protestantism

+

Mysticism

+

Pan Africanism

As in:

"If you aint from the rift valley?

Then you are an immigrant.

~

George Carlin

Humanity came from Africa.

Hello?

Anybody home?

Anyway(s)

This philosophy or influence is obviously

not for everyone.

And I am not encouraging anyone

to adopt it.

I'm just trying to explain

my viewpoints

and how they came to be etc...

Point being it is not

 gonna change now

or ever.

"The mass of men

lead lives of quiet desperation.

What is called resignation

is confirmed desperation."

~

Thoreau

Civil Disobedience and Other Essays Quotes.

Read it in English class when I was 15

years old and we were studying

the transendenalist.

I immediately stopped reading.

Looked out the schoolroom window

(I could take you right to that spot still today)

and said to my self:

"Well not fuckin me."

Cause I saw it in everyone

that was around me

and I just was not going to have it.

I'm a rebel, soul rebel

I'm a capturer, soul adventurer

See the morning sun

On the hillside

Not living good, yeah, travel wide

Said I'm a living man

I've got work to do

If you're not happy, children

Then you must be blue

(Must be blue, must be blue)

People say

(I'm a rebel)

Let them talk

(Soul rebel)

Talk won't bother me

Capturer (I'm a capturer)

That's what they say

(Soul adventurer)

Night and day

(I'm a rebel)

I'm a rebel

Soul rebel

Do you hear them, lippy?

(I'm a capturer)

Gossip around the corner

(Soul adventurer)

How they adventure on me, y'all

But, see the morning sun

On the hillside

Not living good, travel wide

Said I'm a living man

I've got work to do

(Must be blue)

If you're not happy, then you must be blue

(Must be blue, must be blue)

[Chorus]

I'm a rebel (Rebel)

Soul rebel

I'm a capturer (Capturer)

Soul adventurer

Do you hear me?

(I'm a rebel)

Rebel in the morning

(Soul rebel)

Rebel at midday time
