yeah, my crazy morning yesterday.
Coming back from my bike ride to Bardstown and I pulled into our little groc store to see if they have any Boston Butts to bbq. Well, they only had one. I need two. Two big ones, minimum. I thought I would go to Foodland later that night. After I got situated I went back to see Christian and the boys and Fawn was there so we ended up shootin the bull for a lil bit. I thought I'll just go and get that pig early in the AM.
Bout 8:30 Sunday AM I decided to go to the store, just run down to Lewisport and grab two butts. Get down there, no boston butts. Well maybe they will have more at Bills in Hawesville, lets go back up there. Get in truck and...shewon't start. I was like "Well shit!" Now does that even begin to make sense? Five minutes earlier when leaving the house she fired up just fine. Now five minutes later nothing. I didn't even have my cell phone with me. I put the hood up and took a look and there seemed to be some corrosion around one of the battery terminals. Went inside to use their phone to call Al/mom, no answer. Go back outside and a guy is getting out of his car, "You need a jump?" "Well I think I do." We get everything all situated and he says "Looks like you got a lil corrosion around one of your battery terminals." "I was thinking the same thing, I bet that is the problem." truck fired right up from the jump.
So I went to Bills and they had two fine looking Boston Butts, I left the truck running while I got them, this way I can at least make it home with pig for Christians if the truck won't cooperate. Get home turn the truck off. Go to turn it back on and...it's deader than a door nail. So I pour some coke on the terminal with the corrosion on it an let it eat at it for a couple of minutes. Go to start her up and...she is trying now, but still not starting. Go inside call church and tell them I need a ride (five minutes away) Bro Bill says Al will come and get you, Al text and says mom is on her way. I go and get some tools and take that connector off that terminal and clean all the corrosion off of it and tighten it back down and lo and behold guess what? She fires right up. Get out put the hood down and who pulls in? Mom lol. I said "Well she is starting now" and told her the rest of the story. "You still going to church?" she ask. "Yeah, plan on it." "You better hurry, it's 15 till." I went in, washed my hands, changed clothes and walked into church right as the service was starting...
Like I said, yesterday AM was crazy...
then lunch with mom and Al and Alan (who had to skate shortly after dinner as he had to be in Owensboro, which worked out fine as I needed to get to Christians to help cook) and then cooked from 1PM - 9PM
