made me re-appreciate the small things in life.
(ie, The story I didn't wanna tell you the other day).
I walk back to visit Christian and his clan the other day.
It wasn't 'hot as balls' as Christian likes to say so I walked back to visit.
Felt like walkin.
Sometimes that can become a mistake lol.
Cause I don't feel like walking back home ;-).
Go figure right?
So I'm walking on the driveway over the dam of the pond.
I get near the end of it and I hear something.
I look up and see a frog that has launched himself into the pond.
Decent size frog.
Good splash.
I was like "damn".
He had launched himself off of the bank of the dam in a horizontal fashion.
Keep that in mind, that's important.
We've always had frogs around but usually fairly small ones close to our homes.
The big ones stay in the corners of the pond or down by the creek for the most part.
This guy was pretty good size.
So I make it back and hang with the clan for a while.
Decide it's time to walk back home.
I'm walking back across the dam of the pond.
For reasons I won't go into but aren't really that difficult for anyone who really knows me to figure out, that frog was the farthest thing from my mind :-).
All the sudden I hear something.
It startled me.
I look up and that same frog had launched himself off of the side of the bank again.
This time he went about two or more feet in a pretty much vertical fashion.
When he reach the apex of his ascent?
He straightened out, stretched out as long as he could and looking like an Olympic diver, went straight into the pond making the most perfect pa-tussshhh two part splash sound you ever heard in your life.
Seriously.
Sounded just like an Olympic diver :-).
The pond is a few feet below the level of the dam so he was in the air a good three feet or more.
I don't know how long he was when he was stretched out but he was pretty damn long.
Later, Halie said she saw him and that he was big.
I believe her.
Keep in mind all this happened in an instant.
But after I saw that?
I immediately looked around to see if there was anyone else around who might have seen it.
Nope.
Just me.
I doubled over with laughter.
I'm serious.
I was bent over with my arms on my knees laughing.
I couldn't believe what I had just witnessed.
A show.
Just for me.
God's lil gift to me that day.
He knew I was struggling.
He knew I had been struggling.
So he sends a frog playing for the sake of playing to amuse me :-).
To make me smile.
To make me forget my worries.
I finally get it together and start walking on home, giving thanks the whole way for what I had just witnessed.
Later?
I remembered:
Matthew 6:25-34
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
What do you think that frog was worried about?
Exactly.
And that's how a frog made me re-appreciate the small things in life.
Things have been looking up ever since Lucy.
Love you Dollbaby.
