Love

you.

Nite.

The Snow Game

This was so awesome.
Game of the year by far.
So entertaining to watch.

Wasn't all that excited about it.
Nothing really in it for a Dallas fan.

I thought well, I'll just take a nap after lunch.
Al turns on the TV and this is what we see.
I was like, "Hey leave it there, who is that?"

It was funny as all get out.
Grown ass men out there playing like it's a game back in the day in their neighborhoods.
Loved it.

Bills QB got hurt.
They had to play with their third stringer late in the game.

The announcers were saying they didn't really have a lot of play calling options what with a third string quarter back and the conditions and such.

The third string QB?
He was mobile so they could use him as a running back.
That and their normal running back, LaSean McCoy were really a bout their only options.

Ask Al, I said, "Yeah, just keep giving the ball to McCoy, that guy is tough."

He ended up scoring the winning TD in OT :-)
He had 156 yard on 32 carries which is a great day on a normal day.

Ever try and run in 12 inches of snow Lucy?

Sign

o' the times.

Who

said in three years nobody's gonna remember this ass-clown again?

Seems like I vaguely remember somebody saying something close to that.

Just

wanna dance with my girl Lucy.

Can't imagine why this song would ever remind me of you :-).

Love you Lucy.

The

Christmas Tree.

I love it.
I really do.
Soft light.
Cold night.
Nat King Cole Christmas album playing in the background.
Beverage of your choosing.
Peace.
Quiet.
Contentment.

But then always, always, without fail, somebody over the course of the Holidays is going to say:

"Well the Christmas tree is just a pagan symbol anyway."
(More like was :-).

It's like they think with one superficial, depth lacking utterance they have just debunked your entire faith.
I mean that's how they say it.
Like it's one big
"HA!"
Gottcha!
Like you have never heard of such a thing before.

Well?
Not quite.

The next time I hear somebody say this I'm going to politely ask them why it was that the pagans of northern/eastern Europe Scandinavia etc saw the evergreen tree as special, particularly in the winter months?

I betcha not a one could answer.
Not a one.
Thats my bet.
This isn't their point they are trying to make.
So why bother knowing?

So, I would politely inform them that to the pagans,
the evergreen tree symbolized life in the barrenness and isolation of winter.
Sound man made?
Or does that sound like it might have been divinely inspired?

Drew?
Pagans were divinely inspired?
Come on man.

Remember:

Colossians 1:17

"For in Him all things were created,
things in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions
or rulers or authorities.
All things were created through Him and for Him."

All things.
Not some.
All.
All that ever was.
All that is.
All that there is ever to be.
He created it for his purpose.
Pagans included.
If you don't wanna recognize it?
Thats your business but it won't change anything.

Here's what non-believers don't wanna admit.
Most religions contain some truth
but only one religion contains all the truth.
This is why I like Sufism, Rasta etc.
I see truth there.
But I only see all the truth in one place,
in one book
with way to many prophecies still coming true even to this day.

Anyway :-).
(You know whose voice )
So yes, the Pagans could have been divinely inspired to have the interpretation of the Evergreen tree as symbolizing life in the middle of winter exactly correct.

Thats my premise I'm going to work under.

When I first heard of what the symbolism of the evergreen tree represented for the Pagans?
Wanna take a guess what jumped to my mind first and foremost?

Joel Two.

Rebirth.
Better than before.
Not just as good as.
Better than.
The winter would be the Locust Army invasion
and the tree God's message of renewal that is coming afterwards.

It reminded me of Moses in the desert striking the rock with his staff to bring forth living water.

Numbers 20:10-11

"He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them,
“Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?”
Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff.
Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank."

The desert would be the winter and the water of life the hope that is the evergreen tree.

It reminded me of the hope of Christ in a spiritual wasteland.
Christ being the tree and the wasteland being the winter.

The point is, the Pagans had the symbolism right.

You can apply what I'm going to say here to other things as well,
whether it be about the goddess Ishtar and Easter
or any other pagan assimilation into the Christian church.
The church didn't become Pagan, the Pagans became Christian..

Look, here is how this all works boiled down in a nutshell.

When the Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity he had the pagan names literally chiseled off of  their temples and replaced with the names of Christian martyrs/saints.
The Pagan temples literally became places of Christian worship.
Non-believers wanna say: "see, look, it's all a lie, it's all based on paganism blah blah blah..."
No, no it's not.
How about God used the pagans to build his temples for him?
(See Colossians 1:17 again if need be)
How about that interpretation?
Pretty slick huh?
Have another party do your dirty work for you, then your people enjoy the benefits?

If it was the other way around?
If it was the Christians who were used to build the temples for the Pagans?
These very same non-believers would be hucking it up talking about how the Christians got played etc.
But since it didn't quite go that way,
they want to say that Christianity is based on paganism.

You could fall down dead in front of them and resurrect yourself three days later and they still wouldn't believe some of them.
They will just go on and try and find another excuse to live their lives like there is no judgement, no eternity etc.

The one article sums it up perfectly.

God doesn't just convert people.
God converts cultures, symbols, traditions and celebrations as well.

Period.

I wouldn't worship a tree or a wreath even if it produced gifts all on it's own.
Because I know who made the tree or the material for the wreath.
And I know he did it for his own purpose.

Sorry I couldn't boil it all down to a FB meme.
NOT!

I really don't think that Christians as a whole know their faith as well as they should
and therefore we do a horrible job defending it at times.

So the next time somebody starts blabbing about how the Christmas Tree is pagan
in an attempt to deride your faith?

Well?

At least you'll have some ammunition on your side to defend yourself with.

Peace.

http://www.christianitytoday.com/history/2008/december/why-do-we-have-christmas-trees.html

Why

in the world,
do people,
who don't believe in God or Christ?

Celebrate Christmas?

Why?
What is their point?

They're not Jewish, they don't celebrate Hanukkah.
They're not Muslim, they don't celebrate Ramadan.
They're not Hindu, they don't celebrate Diwali.

(My son is a non-believer btw)

So why then, do they celebrate Christmas?

I'll tell you why.
Because it gives them the opportunity to gain something materially they wouldn't get otherwise.
Period.

They will ridicule, mock, scorn and make fun of the faith all year long.
Then they want a gift.
Or they will be upset with what they got.
Then?
The coup d'etat? for me?
They think that Christians are the hypocrites.
Makes sense right?
I just couldn't do those mental gymnastics in my head to justify that position.

How bout they somehow or another establish some integrity
and just not expect or receive any gifts and don't participate in the celebration?
I mean if that's your principled stance and all?
Then just don't participate.

Put up their pagan tree.
(That's a whole different post in itself :-)
Put on a white robe.
Go celebrate the Winter Solstice or whatever it is they wanna do.

That?
I could get behind someone taking a principled stand on.
I wouldn't agree with it.
But at least you would be sticking to your convictions.
That?
I could admire.

This horseshit of deriding something continuously all year long then wanting to participate in the celebration because they can get something out of it?
Not principled in the least.
No integrity involved at all.

So why?
Why celebrate my faiths Holiday?
When you just wanna mock and scorn and jeer at the one whose birth you're celebrating?

Hey!

Remember when Obama was gonna take your guns,
the UN was going to rule the US
and we were all gonna be in FEMA concentration camps?

Come on Conservatards,
lighten up a lil already :-).

No need to be offended right :-) ?

Two

very unique things about Christianity:

1) Good and evil are not separately created entities fighting over control.
In Christianity, God created Satan to fulfill his own purposes.
(Colossians 1:16)

2) The savior/messiah that was prophesied about?
He didn't just come into existence.
He came and then prophesied some more about what was to take place in the future.

Revelation 7:1

"After this
I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth,
holding back the four winds of the earth
to prevent any wind from blowing
on the land or on the sea or on any tree."

Remember what I said about the four winds are leveling?
That they are: the US, China, Russia and violent extremism/terrorism?
That when they are leveled out and equal in power the angels will quit holding them back and turn them loose?

The process is happening:

"To the extent the United States has left a void, others are stepping in. As Russia has expanded its influence in the Middle East, China’s role is growing in Africa and Latin America, and it is soon expected to match or overtake the United States in many aspects of global leadership. As a hefty U.S. trade deficit has grown significantly under Trump, President Xi Jinping has said China is poised to give developing countries a “new choice” as his country takes “center stage” in the world."

"President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia undertook a whirlwind tour to his new allies in the Middle East on Monday, underscoring the extension of Russia’s influence in the region and the continuing shrinkage of the United States’ role."

"Mr. Putin touched down in rapid succession in Syria and Egypt, where he met briefly with their leaders, and planned to head later in the day for Turkey."

The true church?
Not worried about a thing.
It's the merely the continued fulfillment of prophecy.

This

is why I don't like social media much. I do like IG as it's largely just images and if I want to, I don't even bother to read the captions. But it segregates us. It make us all a us vs them subgroup kinda phenomenon. It simplifies complex questions that aren't really so easily understood in such black or white terms. It makes people feel as though they are educated about issues about which they are really not.  It also amplifies incorrect information to conform to peoples preconceived biases. I can see the benefit for staying in touch with family and friends across distances but that seems to be what it has evolved from, not what it really is anymore.

Just really not a big fan.

Anyway?
All that being said?
I figured?
Why not try and at least have some fun with it?
Remember, it's the conservatives who are the ones going around yelling and screaming at everyone for being so easily offended these days :-).
Just trying to have a lil fun Lucy.

con·serv·a·tard

/kənˈsərvətard/

adjective

As in:

Joe is such a conservatard. He thinks he is taking a stand by stating that he wouldn't ever travel to Australia due to their gun laws. The fact is he will never make enough money to take a vacation to Australia if he wanted to.
Such a principled stand.

My point here is, it highlights our differences and separates us as opposed to bringing us together with what we have in common with each other.

Just

in case anybody was interested :-).

"The requirements of the congressional enabling act were duly incorporated at the beginning of the constitution in a section called "The Ordinance." This included the outlawing of slavery, and the statement that all undistributed public lands would be retained by the federal government and could never be taxed by the state. These provisions would be "irrevocable" without the consent of Congress and of the people of Nevada."

It's in their state constitution that
"all undistributed public lands would be retained by the federal government".
It was a condition of statehood.

Ever been to Nevada?
You wouldn't want this land if it was given to you.

Good thing.
You gotta have somewhere to test experimental aircraft and nuclear weapons :-).

People get all upset about it.
I just laugh.
I mean if you feel so strongly about the fact that Nevada should have land given back to it from the federal government?
Then move to Nevada.
Work to change the state constitution.
Have fun with that.

Seriously it just cracks me up.
People are like:
"Did you know..."
Yeah,
yeah I did,
did you know what I just posted above?
Probably not.
I did.

I just try and keep my mouth shut.
Smile.
Go on about my day.

Tax

cuts paid for with borrowed money for the corporations and the richest 1%,
cuts to programs that help the poor.

I love this "Christian Country."

You try telling people that this is what will happen.
They never listen or they don't vote.
Now?
In the near future?
They and their families get to suffer.

If people made more money?
If things really "trickled down" like we are always told they will but never do?

Then you wouldn't have so many people qualifying for SNAP benefits to begin with.

Revelation 6:6

"And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living beings say,
“A measure of wheat for a penny,
and three measures of barley for a penny;
and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine!”

(The poor get starvation wages, the rich are left unhurt basically)

Like always.

This thing is a sham.
Everybody knows it.
Hardly anybody supports it,
and it will still pass.

Well

no shit.

This is an actual conversation I had the other day:

"Don't you watch Facebook videos?"

"No."

"Well they are stupid."

"That's why I don't watch them."

So?
Maybe everyone should ask themselves,
what is more stupid?
The stupid videos?
Or the wasting of time watching them?

The downfall of truth is directly proportional to the rise of social media.

And I like my IG :-).
Mainly cause of somebody else being on there in various forms.

It's just like anything else I suppose.
Are you controlling it?
Or is it controlling you?

I

get that I am not everybody's "cup of tea" so to speak.
Goodness do I ever lol.

Long as I'm your shot of bourbon Lucy?
I'm good with that :-).

People just need to understand
that I have been reading about things
for twice as long as they are old in some instances.
(Nicholas for example).
So if I come across as having an air of superiority about somethings sometimes?
Well?
I feel like I've earned it so to speak.
So just try and take the good with the bad I suppose.

And my few select friends and family?
Let me tell you how we have always worked.
We get mad at each other.
We go without talking.
Months some times.
Years maybe in some cases.
We fuss and fight and cuss
at each other
and have differences of opinion
on just about any and everything
But at the end of the day?

We love each other
and want to see everyone,
each and every one of us,
and all of our families,
happy, well and content.

That?

That is what life is about sweetheart.
Having people around you that you can be like that with.

Peace.

More

homework lol.

Told you I would never be done :-).

Angels roles in the book of Revelation.

Cause you know, it makes sense to believe in demons but not angels right?

And

if you consider yourself a Christian?
And you don't believe or have some kinda interpretation of the last book of the bible?
You know, the only one of the bunch that starts off by saying those who read it will be blessed?

Yeah, that one.
If you believe everything else?
But not this book?

Well?

I don't really see what good it's going to do you when the time comes.

All

just because people won't acknowledge him and humble themselves before him.

Just over and over and over

"They did not repent."

Judgments of God cont

Bowl Judgements

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.”

The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.

The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died.

The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:

“You are just in these judgments, O Holy One,
you who are and who were;
for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets,
and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.”

And I heard the altar respond:

“Yes, Lord God Almighty,
true and just are your judgments.”

The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. Then I saw three impure spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. They are demonic spirits that perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.

“Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”

Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!” Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.

Judgements of God cont

Trumpet Judgments

(It's kinda confusing because the seventh seal judgement is the seven trumpet judgments and the last three trumpet judgments are the three woe's)

Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.

The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— the name of the star is A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”

The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. Their hair was like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth. They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months. They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon (that is, Destroyer).

The first woe is past; two other woes are yet to come.

The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God. It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of the mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.

The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.

The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying:

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.
The nations were angry,
and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,
and for rewarding your servants the prophets
and your people who revere your name,
both great and small—
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.

Here are the Judgements of God

people will face during the end times as they refuse to humble themselves and turn toward him.
(I'm not going to get into the whole pre-trib\post trib debate among Christians here)

Seal Judgements

I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder,“Come!”I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” Then another horse came out, a fiery red one.Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.

I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth,as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

Who

deserves power and glory and praise forever amen?

Revelation 1:6

nd has made us to be a kingdom
and priests to serve his God and Father—
to him be glory and power for ever and ever!
Amen.

Revelation 4:11

You are worthy,
our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things
and by your will they were created and have their being.”

Revelation 5:12

In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!

Revelation 7:12

saying:

“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!”

Revelation 19:1

After this
I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude
in heaven shouting:

“Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God

So?

I'm reading the intro to the Book of Revelation in my Mendenhall Reference Bible yesterday AM.
I usually use my old NIV version as it has all my notes, highlights, underlinings and such but anyway :-) I'm reading and I read this:

"Some interpreters refer everything in Revelation to the distant future, to the period just preceding the end of the world and the coming of Christ. Others believe that it begins with the writers own time and reflects the continuous story of suffering and calamity up until the end of the present age and the coming of Christ. Still others interpret every reference to some historical event or person in the first century, making it a book of the times."

Then I thought about it for a second and realized, I certainly don't agree with the last interpretation.
Of the first two mentioned?
It seems more like both of them combined together somehow.
Somethings are in the future as well as some things having happened or started during the writers own time.

Then I kept reading:

"The most influential interpreters of this book have seen both meanings in the signs and symbols of John: historical references to Nero and the Roman Empire in the first century and the reading of the future in the light of this prophetic understanding of history.

:-).

Made my day Lucy.

Well, that and having lunch with Jr and being taken out for lunch by friends :-).

Love you Dollbaby.

Here

is the whole point:

There are just to many cross references that happen in the scriptures across geographical divides that couldn't have been overcame, and by the divide of time as well.

This was all just a big conspiracy cooked up by people who it took a lot of painstaking work to write and preserve what they did?
Yeah, okay that makes sense, that explains cross references across centuries without having ever been in contact with one another.

NOT!

The writers of the scriptures were not in contact with one another (due to the above mentioned time and geographical divides) so how in the world were they all talking about the same thing without any of them knowing it?

There is not but one answer.

I mean
you know,
Occam's razor and all.

An Army of Locusts

Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble,
for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand— “Announce in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem and say: ‘Sound the trumpet throughout the land!’ Cry aloud and say: ‘Gather together! Let us flee to the fortified cities!’ When a trumpet blast is sounded, the tribes camping on the east are to set out. “The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head. The great day of the Lord is near—near and coming quickly. The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter;
the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry.

A day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times nor ever will be in ages to come. Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord! Why do you long for the day of the Lord? That day will be darkness, not light. A nation has invaded my land, a mighty army without number; it has the teeth of a lion, the fangs of a lioness. They invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of locusts, nor will there ever be again.

Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. Before them the land is like the garden of Eden, behind them, a desert waste—nothing escapes them. Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord.
Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing. ‘I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations, where they were strangers. The land they left behind them was so desolate that no one traveled through it. This is how they made the pleasant land desolate.’”

They have the appearance of horses; they gallop along like cavalry. The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces.

With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops, like a crackling fire consuming stubble,
like a mighty army drawn up for battle. They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle.

At the sight of them, nations are in anguish; every face turns pale. Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me. But now they are blacker than soot; they are not recognized in the streets. Their skin has shriveled on their bones; it has become as dry as a stick. She is pillaged, plundered, stripped! Hearts melt, knees give way, bodies tremble, every face grows pale.

They charge like warriors; they scale walls like soldiers. They all march in line, not swerving from their course. They do not jostle each other; each marches straight ahead. They plunge through defenses
without breaking ranks.

They rush upon the city; they run along the wall. They climb into the houses; like thieves they enter through the windows. Death has climbed in through our windows and has entered our fortresses; it has removed the children from the streets and the young men from the public squares. “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.

Before them the earth shakes, the heavens tremble, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine. The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. “Immediately after the distress of those days “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

The Lord thunders at the head of his army;his forces are beyond number, and mighty is the army that obeys his command. The day of the Lord is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it? “Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them: “‘The Lord will roar from on high; he will thunder from his holy dwelling and roar mightily against his land. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, shout against all who live on the earth. Yet their Redeemer is strong; the Lord Almighty is his name. He will vigorously defend their cause so that he may bring rest to their land, but unrest to those who live in Babylon. Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her. How awful that day will be! No other will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it. Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord! Why do you long for the day of the Lord? That day will be darkness, not light. That day will be a day of wrath—a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness—But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.

Rend Your Heart

“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” “If you, Israel, will return, then return to me, declares the Lord.“If you put your detestable idols out of my sight and no longer go astray, But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always.

Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Then Jacob tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and mourned for his son many days. Then David and all the men with him took hold of their clothes and tore them. At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship, and he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,

Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave behind a blessing—grain offerings and drink offerings
for the Lord your God. Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day.You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.” It may be that the Lord your God will hear all the words of the field commander, whom his master, the king of Assyria, has sent to ridiculethe living God, and that he will rebuke him for the words the Lord your God has heard. Therefore pray for the remnant that still survives.” Is there yet any seed left in the barn? Until now, the vine and the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not borne fruit. “‘From this day on I will bless you.’” Grain offerings and drink offerings are cut off from the house of the Lord. The priests are in mourning, those who minister before the Lord. Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn; wail, you who minister before the altar.Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you who minister before my God; for the grain offerings and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God.

Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.

Gather the people, consecrate the assembly;bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber. And the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes. He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east.

Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’” And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying to me all day long, “Where is your God?” But Moses sought the favor of the Lord his God. “Lord,” he said, “why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians say, ‘It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth’? Turn from your fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your people.

The Lord’s Answer

Then the Lord was jealous for his land and took pity on his people. “Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you. Though in anger I struck you, in favor I will show you compassion. The Lord replied to them:“I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy you fully; never again will I make you an object of scorn to the nations. The fields are ruined, the ground is dried up; the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the olive oil fails. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

“I will drive the northern horde far from you, pushing it into a parched and barren land;its eastern ranks will drown in the Dead Sea and its western ranks in the Mediterranean Sea. And its stench will go up; its smell will rise.” Surely he has done great things! And the Lord changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea. Not a locust was left anywhere in Egypt. The Lord said to me, “From the north disaster will be poured out on all who live in the land. Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea.

Do not be afraid, land of Judah;be glad and rejoice. Surely the Lord has done great things!

Do not be afraid, you wild animals, for the pastures in the wilderness are becoming green. The trees are bearing their fruit; the fig tree and the vine yield their riches. To you, Lord, I call, for fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness and flames have burned up all the trees of the field.

Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. You will winnow them, the wind will pick them up, and a gale will blow them away. But you will rejoice in the Lord and glory in the Holy One of Israel. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Ephraimites will become like warriors, and their hearts will be glad as with wine. Their children will see it and be joyful; their hearts will rejoice in the Lord. I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.

The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm —my great army that I sent among you. What the locust swarm has left the great locusts have eaten; what the great locusts have left the young locusts have eaten; what the young locusts have left other locusts have eaten.

You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land.

Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed. I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you. I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,

The Day of the Lord

“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. I will no longer hide my face from them, for I will pour out my Spirit on the people of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord.” “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace. He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.

Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. “But in those days, following that distress, “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, there will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. See, the day of the Lord is coming —a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it. The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. “See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes.

And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, even among the survivors whom the Lord calls. For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel. And in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean. This is what the Lord says: “Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard, and say, ‘Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel.’ I will make the lame my remnant, those driven away a strong nation. The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion from that day and forever. Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved.

Demons Only exist and have power

because God created them and gave it to them.

They are fallen angels who rebelled with Satan against God.
They can't just run around doing whatever they want.
This seems to be a very common misconception.
They only have power and authority because God grants it to them to serve his purpose.

Revelation 9:4

And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth,
neither any green thing,
neither any tree
but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

Revelation 9:5

And to them it was given that they should not kill them
but that they should be tormented five months:
and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

Revelation 9:10

And they had tails like unto scorpions,
and there were stings in their tails:
and their power was to hurt men five months.

"As Martin Luther, the great reformer, said,

“Even the devil is God’s devil.”

We don’t have to fear him.
God has given Satan the power that he possesses."

Or?
If you want an example outside the book of Revelation?
Consider:

1 Kings 22:22

“‘By what means?’ the Lord asked.
“‘I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said.
“‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord. ‘Go and do it.’

PROBLEM:
The Scriptures teach that God is truth (Deut. 32:4)
and that it is impossible for Him to lie (Heb. 6:18).
Furthermore, God commands us not to lie (Ex. 20:16),
and He will severely punish those who do (Rev. 21:8).
And yet, in spite of all this, God is portrayed in this passage as enlisting lying spirits to entice wicked king Ahab to seal his own doom.
The text says, “Now therefore, look!
The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours” (v. 23).

SOLUTION: Several factors should be considered in understanding this situation.
First, this is a vision.
As such, it is a dramatic picture of God’s sovereign authority spelled out in regal imagery.
Second, this dramatic vision represents God in all His sweeping authority so that even evil spirits are represented as being subjected to His ultimate control.
Third, the God of the Bible, in contrast to gods of pagan religions, is in sovereign control of everything, including the forces of evil which He uses to accomplish His good purposes (cf. Job 1–3).
Fourth, the Bible sometimes speaks of God “hardening” people’s hearts (see comments on Rom. 9:17) or even sending them strong delusions (2 Thes. 2:11).
However, on closer examination of the text, we discover that God did this only on those who freely harden their own hearts (Ex. 8:15) and who “did not believe the truth” (2 Thes. 2:12).
In short, God is not commending lying here.
He is simply utilizing it to accomplish His purposes.
God is not promoting lying, but permitting it to bring judgment on evil.
That is, God, for His own purposes of justice,
allowed Ahab to be deceived by evil spirits whom He knew in His omniscience would be used to accomplish His sovereign and good will.

And for good measure:

"The Lord did say, however, that there is a conflict of kingdoms (Matt. 12:22-30).
Paul instructs the Ephesian church about spiritual warfare against the schemes of a dark celestial hierarchy composed of “the devil,” “rulers,” “authorities,” “powers of this dark world,” and “spiritual forces of evil”
(Eph. 6:12, NIV).
(Perhaps territorial spirits are included in this list.)

To fight this war, Paul tells believers to “stand” against them in God’s power using His armor (Eph. 6:11, 14).
The weapons he lists for battle are:
honesty,
righteousness,
witnessing,
assurance of salvation,
belief in God,
and proficiency in the Scriptures.
But wait, isn’t this simply obedient Christian living?
Where’s the mystical mumbo jumbo — the direct encounter with the supernatural?
It would appear that Christians who effectively live out their faith assault satanic oppression of a society with an onslaught that verbal rebukes cannot approach.

Why in the world
people believe in demons
but not the God that created them
and gives them their power and authority to do his will
is beyond me Lucy.

Just

in case anybody was wondering about such things.
You know, my love of memes and all :-).

Night Lucy

Love you.

"Our

God is an awesome God..."

Well

that just sounds wonderful for consumers.

I

think it was bound to happen someday.
I think it was inevitable actually.
I don't really like the decision all that much.
I think it says a lot about the times we are living in.
Of all the people to have done it?
I would have never thought it would have been Trump.
Expect some collateral damage in the near future.

Anybody

else ever notice the ones that always espouse "Judicial Restraint"
are the very same ones who helped create "Corporate Personhood"?
Why isn't that considered "Judicial Activism"?

I'll be waiting for an explanation.
Probably be waiting for a while.

Why

I like two pieces of toast with my breakfast.

Not with pancakes and such,
but with eggs in particular, hash browns, bacon sausage etc.

Take one piece,
butter it,
cut it on the diagonal.
Use it as a sideboard :-).
Yes, a sideboard lol.
I know you know what I'm talking bout Lucy.

Push all that good old egg gooeyness right up against your half piece of buttered toast and if a lil breakfast meat or some pieces of hash brown come along for the ride?
Well good for 'em.
Repeat till breakfast is gone :-).
The toast also helps to fill you up.

The second piece?
After you are done with Breakfast?
Put some jelly or apple butter on it and use it as desert.
Yeah, that's what I'm talking bout.

I'm

really a pretty simple guy Lucy.

I am who I am.
I like what I like.
(Even to others dismay at times :-)
I do what I'm told.

It's really not all that complicated.

I

think (know actually)
that people get intelligence and wisdom mixed up.

Intelligence is a gift.
There are many forms.
Most of us are intelligent about some things and then completely ignorant about others.
(My lack of mechanical intelligence is well documented lol)
Intelligence can be enhanced, expanded upon with study, etc.

Wisdom?
Wisdom is completely different.
Wisdom comes from a source.
You'll either get it or you won't.
