And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
