Before them the earth shakes,
the heavens tremble,
the sun and moon are darkened,
and the stars no longer shine.
Sounds like locust right?
This army isn't literally locust.
They are God Almighty's supernatural Army.
"Alarming, formidable, extraordinary, awe-inspiring"
they have been called.
The Lord thunders
at the head of his army;
The Lord God Almighty is at the front of them, leading them on.
his forces are beyond number,
"There are army's of you.
There are army's of you..."
Revelation 19:11-16
Christ on a White Horse
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the wine-press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.
and mighty is the army that obeys his command.
"They all march in line,
not swerving from their course.
They do not jostle each other;
each marches straight ahead.
They plunge through defenses
without breaking ranks.
They rush upon the city;
they run along the wall.
They climb into the houses;
like thieves they enter through the windows"
Remember?
The day of the Lord is great;
it is dreadful.
Who can endure it?
The end of an age has come.
Who can endure it indeed.
And that was just the first 11 verses of 32 :-)
I'll be honest,
there is just so much here
and I'm doing these commentaries in such a random fashion
(Along with the stuff in Revelation)
at times?
It has been a struggle to get it all put together Lucy.
When I'm finished?
I plan on putting it together in a much more coherent fashion.
Promise.
But for now?
The first third of this book?
My commentaries are complete.
