44. Excuse
"I am not respectable enough to be a Christian."
It is your desire to be a Christian that counts,
"And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry." (Luke 15:20-24). See also Luke18: 10-14.
We can never make ourselves good enough.
"However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness." (Romans 4:5). See also Isaiah 41:13.
45. Excuse:
"I am afraid Jesus will not recieve me."
Answer: You have His word for it.
All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. (John 6:37)
God is no respecter of persons.
for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
"But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” (Luke 15:2)
