I said I wouldn't mind California.
He started going on about all the valid reasons not to want to live there.
I said something to the effect of:
"It doesn't really matter where I end up living,
I'm probably not going to be there that much anyway,
so it's really not going to matter."
He just nodded in agreement and we went about our day.
