Been across it three times now :-).
The first time I laid the bike down in a curve on the way so taking a picture of the bike while on the ferry didn't happen.
I Got pictures that day.
Just not of the bike on the ferry.
So?
When I had repairs done on the bike?
First ride?
Go cross the Reed Ferry again right?
Did I think to take a picture of the bike on it the second time?
Well of course not.
:-).
TSS.
I was just thinking, I betcha there will be some ahole out there that will say,
"You didn't cross that one on your bike, you don't have a picture of your bike on it."
So?
Third time is the charm :-).
Wish I had a better picture but the glare from the sun made it hard to see.
I like getting the undermounted mirrors in the picture but whatever, got my shot.
:-).
Buddy went with me.
165 miles round trip.
Crossed Green River twice on two different ferrys.
Saw the Paradise Fossil Plant on the way.
Always think of
When I was a child my family would travel
Down to Western Kentucky where my parents were born
And there's a backwards old town that's often remembered
So many times that my memories are worn
And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away
Well, sometimes we'd travel right down the Green River
To the abandoned old prison down by Airdrie Hill
Where the air smelled like snakes and we'd shoot with our pistols
But empty pop bottles was all we would kill
And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away
Then the coal company came with the world's largest shovel
And they tortured the timber and stripped all the land
Well, they dug for their coal till the land was forsaken
Then they wrote it all down as the progress of man
And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away
When I die let my ashes float down the Green River
Let my soul roll on up to the Rochester dam
I'll be halfway to Heaven with Paradise waitin'
Just five miles away from wherever I am
And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away
and
when I make this trip.
"Let my soul roll on up to the Rochester dam"
The first ferry we crossed was the Rochester ferry.
Reed Ferry.
Paddle wheeler :-).
Gotta love it.
Love you Lucy.
Wish you were with us sweetheart.
