"Oh in a world so hard and dirty, so fouled and confused
Searching for a little bit of God's mercy, I found living proof
Well I put my heart and soul, babe, I put 'em high upon a shelfRight next to the faith, the faith that I'd lost in myself
I went down into the desert city yeah just trying so hard to shed my skin
I crawled deep into some kind of darkness looking to burn out every, every trace of who I'd been
You do some sad sad things, baby, oh when it's you you're trying to loseYou do some sad and hurtful things, I seen living proof
You shot through my anger and rageTo show me my prison was just an open, open cageThere were no keys, no guardsOh just one frightened man and some old shadows for bars
Well now all that's sure on the boulevardIs that life is just a house of cards
As fragile as each and every breath
Of this boy sleeping in our bed
Tonight let's lie beneath the eaves, babe
It' just a close band of happy thieves
And when that train comes we'll get on board
And steal what we can from the treasures, treasures of the Lord
It's been a long long drought, baby, tonight the rain's pouring down on our roofOh looking for a little bit of God's mercy, I found living proof
Oh living proof
I found living proof
"And when that train comes we'll get on board" reminds me of the Marley lyric in Zion Train when he sings "I got to catch the train cause there's no other station..."
Ephesians 4:7-8
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says:
“When he ascended on high,
he took many captives
and gave gifts to his people.”
Psalm 68:18
When you ascended on high,
you took many captives;
you received gifts from people,
even from the rebellious—
that you, Lord God, might dwell there...
and of course we got more rain poring down :-). Righteousness etc...
Oh and then there's this train too:
Land of hope and dreams
Grab your ticket and your suitcase
Thunder's rolling down this track
Well you don't know where you're goin' now
But you know you won't be back
Well darlin' if you're weary
Lay your head upon my chest
We'll take what we can carry
Yeah, and we'll leave the rest
Well, big wheels roll through fields where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams
Well, I will provide for you
And I'll stand by your side
You'll need a good companion now
For this part of the ride
Yeah, leave behind your sorrows
Let this day be the last
Well, tomorrow there'll be sunshine
And all this darkness past
Well, big wheels roll through fields where sunlight streams
Oh, meet me in a land of hope and dreams
Well, this train carries saints and sinners
This train carries losers and winners
This train carries whores and gamblers
This train carries lost souls
I said, this train, dreams will not be thwarted
This train, faith will be rewarded
This train, hear the steel wheels singin'
This train, bells of freedom ringin'
Ohh, yes, this train carries saints and sinners
This train carries losers and winners
This train carries whores and gamblers
This train carries lost souls
I said, this train carries broken-hearted
This train, thieves and sweet souls departed
This train carries fools and kings
This train, all aboard
I said, now, this train, dreams will not be thwarted
This train, faith will be rewarded
This train, hear the steel wheels singin'
This train, bells of freedom ringin'
Come on this train
People get ready
You don't need no ticket
All you got do is just get on board
On board this train (this train, now)
People get ready (this train)
You don't need no ticket (this train)
(Oh, I know you don't)
You don't need no ticket (this train)
You just get on board (people get ready)
You just thank the Lord (people get ready)
You just thank the Lord (people get ready)
You just thank the Lord (people get ready)
(Come on this train, people get ready)
(Come on this train, people get ready)
I hope you are doing okay today baby.
I love you honey :-).
