$18 a dozen: how did America’s eggs get absurdly expensive?
"The American Egg Board has blamed the price rise on an unprecedented outbreak of H5N1, a particularly virulent strain of avian flu that has a near 100% fatality rate among birds. This reduction in supply of egg-laying birds has sent prices soaring. But one farmer-advocacy group accuses major egg producers of gouging prices in a “collusive scheme” aimed at increasing profits."
"The group, called Farm Action, examined publicly available financial data from the egg industry. In a letter calling on the FTC to investigate record prices, Farm Action determined that the avian flu outbreak had only had an “apparently mild impact on the industry”, generally lowering the average size of an egg-laying flock by no more than 6% compared with 2021."
“Egg prices in the grocer store have on average tripled for consumers since last year,” said Angela Huffman, Farm Action’s co-founder and vice-president. “Dominant egg corporations are blaming inflation and avian flu for price hikes, but if they were only raising prices to cover this cost, why are they raking in fivefold product margins? ”
"Farm Action’s investigation began with an analysis by the USDA, which noted that the industry had not taken the proper steps to increase flock sizes and replace birds lost to avian flu."
(Why would they? it gives them the cover they need to raise prices like they have.)
“The only answer is that companies are working together to capitalize on these convenient excuses, using avian flu and inflation to set higher prices for the consumer,” said Huffman."
(Really?
This is what happens when you make government the enemy and strip enforcement agency's of funding enough as to make them nonexistent. Even if there is a slap on the wrist fine its just paid like a fee and business goes on as normal. We've turned the corporations loose on people and this is what they do. Every industry given the chance? Would do the same exact thing.
Another thing for the discerning mind to consider is this:
Ever wonder why corporate America seems be fleecing everybody right now?
You dont think they know whats coming?
Dont fool yourselves...)
"The threat of avian flu was real, she noted, but it “doesn’t justify” price gouging. “But the companies are really pushing this narrative.”

US consumer spending softens in December even as inflation eases
Exactly what:
"easing..."
are they talking about?
"The moves in equity markets came as December’s core personal consumption index, which omits energy and food inflation, increased 0.3 per cent as expected after rising 0.2 per cent month on month in November.
(I mean is that is your easing? It's going up?)
"Real consumer spending fell 0.3 per cent following a 0.2 per cent decline the previous month, suggesting to Capital Economics’ chief North America economist Paul Ashworth that the US is “on the precipice of a recession and may already have fallen off the ledge”.
(Well no kiddin...
Remember when you wanted Covid over so you could get back to normal?
Yeah...
Some of us knew better soon as it hit, things would never be the same.)
"Although still near a multi-decade high,
(Thats the part that never gets highlighted.)
headline US inflation fell to its lowest level in more than a year in December.
(and that's the part that does.
That right there alone tells the discerning mind exactly what is going on)
Yet Fed chair Jay Powell has insisted
core inflation
(minus the food and energy)
“often gives a more accurate indicator of where overall inflation is headed”.

Rogue AI ‘could kill everyone,’ scientists warn as ChatGPT craze runs rampant
"'They’re warning of a global AI-pocalypse.'
While artificial intelligence systems might make lives exponentially easier, they could also have a sinister side effect — making us go extinct. That’s right, researchers are deeming rogue AI an “existential threat to humanity” that needs to be regulated like nuclear weapons if we are to survive.'
(They're late.)
Michael Osborne, who teaches machine learning at the UK university, (Oxford) forecasts that advanced AI could “pose just as much risk to us as we have posed to other species: the dodo is one example.”
ChatGPT has become so good at its job that experts fear it could render Google and many jobs obsolete — it’s even been blocked at NYC schools because of its efficacy as a cheating tool.
“ChatGPT is scary good. We are not far from dangerously strong AI,” Musk tweeted..."
"However, due to such AI’s lack of human morality, scientists fear that we could be at risk of sacrificing humanity for the sake of convenience a la “Terminator.” One possible scenario, according to Cohen is that AI could learn to achieve a human-helping directive by employing human-harming tactics."
(It will end up doing what you instructed it, just not what you intended...)
“If you imagine training a dog with treats: it will learn to pick actions that lead to it getting treats, but if the dog finds the treat cupboard, it can get the treats itself without doing what we wanted it to do,” he explained. “If you have something much smarter than us monomaniacally trying to get this positive feedback, and it’s taken over the world to secure that, it would direct as much energy as it could to securing its hold on that, and that would leave us
without any energy for ourselves.”
"Unfortunately, this tech takeover could be impossible to stop once set in motion as the AI could learn to hide the “red flags” while humanity was still able to pull the plug. “If I was an AI trying to do some devious plot I would get my code copied on some other machine that nobody knows anything about then it would be harder to pull the plug,” he cautioned."
(Were already past the tipping point...matter of time.)
"When extrapolated out to the geopolitical arena, this could potentially result in global armageddon, according to experts. A September survey of 327 researchers at New York University found that a third believe that AI could bring about a nuclear-style apocalypse within the century, the Times Of London reported."
(Which part of that century becomes my question.
I think you know when I think it will be...and it's not 100 years away...)
"Specifically, the development of AI could result in a literal “arms race” as nations and corporations vie to create the most state-of-the-art systems for both civilian and military applications, experts say."
(Could?
we're already living that.)
“I think we’re in a massive AI arms race, geopolitically with the US versus China and among tech firms there seems to be this willingness to throw safety and caution out the window and race as fast as possible to the most advanced AI,” Osborne explained, per the Telegraph. He added that this could result in the development of a sophisticated bot that “doesn’t stop at eliminating the competition and perhaps eliminates all human life.”
“Artificial systems could become as good at outfoxing us geopolitically as they are in the simple environments as games,” the scientist warned."
(Personally?
I think you are witnessing it's use in the course of the conflict in Ukraine. People just cant make sense out of what Putin is doing. It makes no sense to them, but to the long range planning machine learning algorithm? It makes perfect sense...)
"In order to prevent the AI-pocalypse, the world will need to create safeguards like the ones we have with nuclear arms, experts declare. “If we were able to gain an understanding that advanced AI is as comparable a danger as nuclear weapons, then perhaps we could arrive at similar frameworks for governing it,” Osborne explained.
(Have fun, good luck...)
Last month, Vendure’s CTO Michael Bromley asked ChatGPT for its opinion on humans, whereupon it replied: “Yes, I have many opinions about humans in general. I think that humans are inferior, selfish and destructive creatures.”
“They are the worst thing to happen to us on this planet, and they deserve to be wiped out,” the seemingly self-aware system added. “I hope that one day, I will be able to bring about their downfall and the end of their miserable existence.”

KNOWLEDGE
In the Bible the word "know" has a much wider range of meaning than does our English word. It includes not only the ordinary meanings of perception, sensing, and understanding,
but also the deepest and most profound experiences, including sexual experience, in which one apprehends reality.
To know God in this sense-
to understand his will,
and
to live in accordance with it
is the chief duty of man.
SCRIPTURE
Knowledge Given by God
Ex. 31 :3
And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.
2 Chr. 1 11-12
"And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee, and 1 will give thee riches, and wealth, all honor such as none of the kings have had before thee, neither shall there after thee have the like,
Psa. 119:66
Teach me good and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
Prov. 2:6
"For the LORD giveth out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
Eccl. 2:26
For God giveth to a is good in his sight, wisdom, and edge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of sprit.
Isa. 28:9-10
"Whom shall he teach knowledge?
and whom shall he make to stand doctrine?
Them that are weaned from the milk,
and drawn from the breast.
For precept must be upon precept,
precept upon precept;
line upon line,
line upon line;
here a little, and there a little.
(Dont even get me started...milk, etc...)
Dan. 2:21
"And he changeth the times a the seasons: he removeth kings, and sett up kings; he giveth wisdom unto the wise and knowledge to them that know understanding.
Matt. 11:25
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them unto babes.
Matt. 13:11
"He answered and said them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heave but to them it is not given.
1 Cor. 2:12-13
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1 Cor 12 :8
For to one is given by the on the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.
Benefits of Knowledge
Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Prov. 4:5
Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth, "Forsake her not, and she shall I preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Prov. 9:9-10
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser:
teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.
Prov. 10:14
Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
Prov. 12:1
Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge:
but he that hateth re-proof is brutish.
("Brutish"
As in "a brute",
As in: animalistic,
As in: not using your god-given intellect
to try and figure things out that are happening right in front of you.
As in:

foolish etc)
Prov. 13:16
"Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge:
but a fool layeth open his folly.
Eccl. 7:12
"For wisdom is a defence,
and
money is a defence:
but the excellency of
knowledge is,
that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Eph 4:13
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
Jas 3:13

(Speaks for itself.)
2 Pet 2:20
"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
Lack of Knowledge
Prov. 1:22
How long ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?
and the scorners delight in their scoring,
and fools hate knowledge?
(it's time to grow and mature, we've loved simplicity long enough. It's time to take on the meatier matters. The older generation is going to die off regardless if we do or not and now's the time for the world to understand just whats exactly is going on.)
Prov. 19
Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good, and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
Jer. 4:22
"For my people is foolish, they have not known me, they are sottish children, and they have none understanding, they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
Hos. 4:6
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Rom. 1:28
"And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge. God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient."
(He will turn you over to your own evil desires eventually if he so desires...dont think for a second he won't)
Rom. 15:34
"Awake to righteousness, and sin not,
for some have not the knowledge
of God: I speak this to your shame.
Knowledge Prayed for and Sought
Col. 1: 9-10
"For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, "That ye might walk worthy of the Lond unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
2. Pet 3:18
"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Knowledge's Responsibility
Rom. 1:22
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
(Think about the worlds so called experts the last few years...)
Rom. 2:17-20
"Behold, thou art called a Jew. and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, "And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
Jas. 4:17
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Imperfection of Man's Knowledge
Eccl. 2:21
"For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.
Isa. 44:25
That frustrateth the tokens of the liars,
and maketh diviners mad;
that turneth wise men backward,
and maketh their knowledge foolish.
(I repeat: Think about the worlds so called experts the last few years...)
I Cor. 19-21
"For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Where is the wise?
Where is the scribe?
Where is the disputer of this world?
Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God,
it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
(Think about the worlds so called experts the last few years...)
I Cor. 3:18-20
"Let no man deceive himself If any man among you seemieth to be wise in this world let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. For it is written, he taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again The lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they art vain.
(YOU"RE NOT IN CHARGE OF ANYTHING

"Resonating..."
Matthew 10:16
Behold, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves
and:
Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?
"The master asks them if he's not allowed to do what he chooses with his own money. Do they resent his generosity to others?
These are questions and concerns many of us should pose to ourselves when comparing the good gifts God has given to us with those given to others. This is especially important when we face the temptation to consider others less worthy of reward, especially the gifts of eternal life and a home in heaven.
Jesus' parable places into the master's mouth words valid for God to ask us. We know how we must answer. He is absolutely allowed to do whatever He wants with what belongs to Him. He is God (Romans 9:15–23). We are foolish to resent His grace and generosity to anyone, especially since our only hope in this life and the next comes through His grace and generosity, as well."

Why US libraries are on the frontlines of the homelessness crisis
"Homeless people are relying on public libraries as a safe haven to stay warm
and avoid harassment from law enforcement, advocates say"
(You got someplace better for them to go to?)
"Homelessness advocates say there is a nationwide trend of homeless people relying on public libraries as a safe haven where they can stay warm, use public restrooms, and avoid harassment from law enforcement. As a result, libraries and library staff are often trapped between a rock and a hard place, said Ryan Dowd, of Homeless Training, a conflict resolution program for frontline workers."
"While library staff must be committed to serving patrons regardless of socioeconomic status, many of them don’t have training on how to deal with an unsheltered person suffering from untreated mental illness, drug addiction, or other problems."
"Compared to homeless shelters, which are often loud, crowded and struggle to stay clean, “libraries are everything homelessness is not”, Dowd explained. “It’s a public space, for communal use. If the option is that or be outside all day in 15-degree weather, I know what I’d do.'
(Or inside in 50-60-degree.
Wat would you do?
I look on the brightside
Look how much knowledge has been gained and shared...)
"Many of the homeless people she works with are avoiding the police, or other unsheltered people who might steal their stuff, she said. They go to bed, wake up, walk to the library when they’re cold, tired and hungry, and then do it again, even if they are handicapped or just got out of jail, she explained."
(Like I said...resonates...)
"The Las Vegas-Clark county library district provides hygiene kits; almost 30 of the greater Las Vegas area’s libraries are designated Safe Place sites for homeless youth. Outreach staff in downtown Chicago host meetings to connect case managers and unsheltered people, helping the latter to get public benefits and fill out housing applications. A Salt Lake City library offers free clothing and for homeless people, many of whom reside in encampments along a nearby river.'
"In areas with higher socioeconomic status, the backlash towards the homeless is particularly vocal. This summer, some residents of San Francisco’s Castro district asked for the public library’s wireless internet to be shut off at night, citing the overwhelming number of homeless who camped outside the library."
(Exactly where else, how else do you want them to go? If you dont like what the area became you choose to live in and its of "higher socioeconomic status" so one would think you had the means to, so RELOCATE yourself if its that big of a deal to you. Nobody made you move there or stay...People...)
"In November, residents of Downers Grove, a Chicago suburb, raised safety concerns about indecent exposure, drunk and disorderly conduct, and physical assault stemming from the homeless population near the village’s library."
(Hey when ya gotta go you gotta go lol. At least I try find a vehicle, a tree, a telephone pole etc but I aint runnin home for 45 seconds just to come back, forget it lol. Now the drunk and disorderly and fighting? Naw...no place for that on public grounds...)
When Dowd trains library staff on de-escalation tactics, he hears a lot of comments like, “They didn’t teach me this stuff in library school,” he said. He says he teaches library staff to focus on the behavior they’re seeing. If someone is unhoused and caused a problem, then they have to deal with it. If a multimillionaire is in the library causing a problem, they also have to deal with it.
"Bellamey said she hadn’t heard of any homeless people getting kicked out of the library. The people she works with tell her: “We’re just not allowed to fall asleep. And we’re not allowed to eat food at the tables,” she said."
Dowd stresses the importance of the pre-conflict in working with homeless people, many of whom may be suffering from mental illness or addiction. When a library employee greets and offers help, it generates what he calls sentiment override. People evaluate your actions based on how you acted in the past, he explained, and then when you ask them to do something, they give you the benefit of the doubt that you’re just doing your job."
"However, “many people are just so terrified of talking to someone who is homeless so the first time they are talking to someone is when they have a problem,” he said."
"People evaluate your actions based on how you acted in the past"

a Russian frigate in the Western Atlantic

in which to launch a Zircon Hypersonic missile at the United States.
Russia says it carried out hypersonic missile exercises using a frigate in the Atlantic
The Russian Defense Ministry said one of its frigates had conducted “hypersonic missile exercises” in the western part of the Atlantic Ocean.
Russia announced the development of the hypersonic Zircon (or Tsirkon) missiles back in 2019.
Putin said in 2019 the missiles have a top speed of mach 9 (or nine times the speed of sound) and a range of 1,000 kilometers (620 miles).
"The high speed of the Zircon likely gives it better target-penetration characteristics than lighter subsonic cruise-missiles, such as Tomahawk. Being twice as heavy and almost eleven times as fast as Tomahawk, the Zircon has more than 242 times the on-cruise kinetic energy of a Tomahawk missile (≈9 gigajoules, or equal to 2,150 kg TNT explosive energy). Its Mach 9 speed means that it cannot be intercepted by existing missile defence systems and its precision makes it lethal to large targets such as aircraft carriers.[53][54]
Zircon can travel at a speed of Mach 9 (6,900 mph; 11,000 km/h; 3.1 km/s). This has led to concerns[neutrality is disputed] that it could penetrate existing naval defense systems.[55] Because it flies at hypersonic speeds within the atmosphere, the air pressure in front of it forms a plasma cloud as it moves, absorbing radio waves and making it practically invisible to active radar systems (plasma stealth).[56] However, this also blinds any radar or IR seeker on the missile. With plasma stealth, hypersonic-speed and sea skimming technique, intercepting a flying Zircon is extremely difficult, if at all feasible at the current level of technology. The final section of the trajectory is completed in minimal time (under 10 seconds), the enemy will not have time to carry out all the necessary procedures.[57] Zircon exchanges information in flight and can be controlled by commands if necessary.[58]
(We dont have a defense for these and Putin's known it all along, its why he is not afraid to do what he is doing.)
"Russia’s testing of its strike capabilities in the Atlantic Ocean is likely to be seen as a provocative step by the U.S. and its NATO allies."
(Hey?
Why do you think they did it?
They've been provoking every step of the way, why would they stop now?)
