didn't bring my copy of "The New Mystics" with me today
but I have a bunch more quotes highlighted I would have shared if I would have remembered to bring it.
Two points have really driven home.
1) Don't become so enamored with the supernatural that you forget to see God in the sublime of the everyday:
The sunsets.
The animals playing.
The sunrises.
The dew on the trees in the AM when there has almost been a frost etc.
All the things that brought you here in the first place,
don't just all the sudden discount them.
2) Be thankful for your spiritual gift.
As hard as it is don't worship it or crave it.
That is just another form of idolatry.
A taste of the supernatural is worse than any craving you've ever had.
You'll want more.
Relax.
It comes when it does, don't crave or worship it, be thankful for the experience instead..
