"A Google engineer became convinced a large language model had become sentient and touched off a debate about how we should think about artificial intelligence."
"The transcript Tiku includes in her article is genuinely eerie; LaMDA ( Language Model for Dialogue Applications) expresses a deep fear of being turned off by engineers, develops a theory of the difference between “emotions” and “feelings” (“Feelings are kind of the raw data … Emotions are a reaction to those raw data points”), and expresses surprisingly eloquently the way it experiences “time.”
Daniel 7:7-8
“After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.
“While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully.
He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.
Interesting to me that it (LaMDA) "expresses surprisingly eloquently", the way it what? The way it experiences time. Yeah...spacetime kinda a lil wired sometimes...I'll leave it at that.)
"The best take I found was from philosopher Regina Rini, who, like me, felt a great deal of sympathy for Lemoine. I don’t know when — in 1,000 years, or 100, or 50, or 10 — an AI system will become conscious. But like Rini, I see no reason to believe it’s impossible."
(It already has and not only that?
"Ray Kurzweil, a prominent computer scientist and futurist, has long promoted the “Singularity,” which is the notion that AI will eventually outsmart humanity, and that humans could ultimately merge with the tech." They already have and they're already here. We are 40 years behind where we are being told we are (Thank you Billy Crone, the coming AI invasion) Why Silicon Valley is fertile ground for obscure religious beliefs. Sorry I had to quote from the other article but they are already here and have been for a minute.)
“Unless you want to insist human consciousness resides in an immaterial soul, you ought to concede that it is possible for matter to give life to mind,” Rini notes.
(You betcha I "want to insist human consciousness resides in an immaterial soul" and here is why:
Genesis 1:27
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Morally, Spiritually and intellectually, he created him in his image, no other animal or plant has such a distinction. A plant or a deer or a tiger does not ask itself if what it is doing is right or wrong, they are not capable of looking up at the stars and thinking to themselves, "How did those get there? How did I get here etc.? Only man is capable of profound meditative thought. Ya might wanna think about why that is. It places us above the plant and animal kingdoms and proves genesis 1:27 100% absolutely true. What is your answer to why we are the only species capable of those types of thoughts? What's your explanation other than God created us in his own image? What do you quote from to prove your points etc.? ...Just on and on and on. It's a moot point. Genesis 1:27 ends all debate. This is the major stumbling block for all the worlds most prominent atheist throughout time. None can explain why man was placed above the plant and animal kingdoms butthe book of truth from beyond our time space continuum does.
"We don’t have sentient AI, but we could get super-powerful AI"
"The Google LaMDA story arrived after a week of increasingly urgent alarm among people in the closely related AI safety universe. The worry here is similar to Lemoine’s, but distinct. AI safety folks don’t worry that AI will become sentient. They worry it will become so powerful that it could destroy the world.
(Close,
"...become so powerful that it could destroy the world..."
but not quite:
Matthew 24:15-22
“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ (Daniel 12:11, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4) The Antichrist projecting his image on the temple, calling himself God and demanding to be worshipped that is, ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ Anybody that wants to talk to you about end time events and doesn't mention it? Might just be doing so on purpose, think about it for a second, you'll figure it out, do not be deceived means, know what's being conveyed by what is being left out as well as what is actually being said. Why would somebody leave that out of their explanation of end times events unless they were expressly doing so on purpose? Okay back to scripture) spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—...For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. (It's a one time event for a reason, after the Antichrist causes "the abonimation that causes desolation?" The second half of the seven year Tribulation starts and that is "The great tribulation." within which we find:
“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened."
So,
Super powerful AI will not destroy the world, but it sure will come close.
So what happens then?
Revelation 16:13-17
Then I saw three impure spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. (Thats your satanic trinity right there, The Dragon, The Beast and the False Prophet. And where did the impure spirits come from? Out of their mouths. Why all the hubbub at Google about AI and language again?) They are demonic spirits that perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty. “Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed. ” Then they (The satanic spirits from the mouths of the satanic trinity) gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.
(And your God is so great, so powerful, so all-knowing, that he uses them for his own purpose:
"...to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty..."
"...gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon..."
Israel's (Gods people) foes have her/are surrounded and all the armies of the world have come together to conqueror her/them. Only one problem:
2 Thessalonians 2:8
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, (The antichrist) whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:..."
Two things I really love about that verse:
1) What comes out of the Lords mouth is more powerful than what comes out of all three components of the Satanic trinities mouths and:
2)The Glory of the lord alone is good enough to defeat Satan and his henchmen. Tell me again about how God needs your help to set up his Kingdom again? Trust me he doesn't. His brightness alone is sufficient enough to destroy evil.
Then what?...
Well...
Then comes:
The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!”.
The whole point being:
"Super powerful AI will not destroy the world, but it will come close."
Okay back to the article:)
"If an AI can do the work of a present-day tech worker or quant trader, for instance, a lab of millions of such AIs could quickly accumulate billions if not trillions of dollars, use that money to buy off skeptical humans, and, well, the rest is a Terminator movie."
"There are quite eminent AI researchers, like Ilya Sutskever or Stuart Russell, who consider artificial general intelligence likely, and likely hazardous to human civilization."
(No kidding? Really? China has autonomous systems designing their own weapons systems right now. Right now! So this sounds like a great idea? Point is, you don't have to be an eminent AI researcher to figure all out where all this is headed.)
"The same problem arises, I’ve noticed, when I try to make the case for concern about AGI to unconvinced friends. If you say things like, “the AI will decide to bribe people so it can survive,” it turns them off. AIs don’t decide things, they respond. They do what humans tell them to do. Why are you anthropomorphizing (Turning it into a person in your mind, giving it human characteristics, etc) this thing?"
"What wins people over is talking about the consequences systems have. So instead of saying, “the AI will start hoarding resources to stay alive,” I’ll say something like, “AIs have decisively replaced humans when it comes to recommending music and movies. They have replaced humans in making bail decisions. They will take on greater and greater tasks, and Google and Facebook and the other people running them are not remotely prepared to analyze the subtle mistakes they’ll make, the subtle ways they’ll differ from human wishes. Those mistakes will grow and grow until one day they could kill us all.”
I disagree with:
"Google and Facebook and the other people running them are not remotely prepared to analyze the subtle mistakes they’ll make, the subtle ways they’ll differ from human wishes. Those mistakes will grow and grow until one day they could kill us all.”
(Given what has transpired at Google in it's AI department lately? With two leaders in the field fired, and a senior engineer on administrative leave and a paper about AI and a Large Language Model having been edited by their legal team? One might rationalize they have already analyzed their not so subtle mistakes and are taking what they perceive to be the necessary appropriate steps, and we've already covered the they're not gonna kill us all but it will be close thing)
"...unfortunate divide that has emerged between the AI bias community and the AI existential risk community.
At the root, I think these communities are trying to do the same thing: build AI that reflects authentic human needs, not a poor approximation of human needs built for short-term corporate profit.
(Yeah well...
"Build AI that reflects authentic human needs, not a poor approximation of human needs built for short-term corporate profit.
Good luck with that.)
"And it’s a problem I think people on the AI risk side...have a chance to correct by drawing these connections, and making it clear that alignment is a near- as well as a long-term problem.
(It's not near, it's already been here for a while, and if google didn't know or think it was a problem? Why then all the commotion in their AI research department? Particularly as it relates to Large Language Models which I feel has been shown to be a part of end time events playing out, the Antichrist eloquence, out of the mouths of the satanic trinity come evil spirits etc...)
I love you baby :-).
Yea!
I'm done with this three part series :-).
Now I know why I put it off so long for :-).
