What

2 Thessalonians 2:11

"…and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.…"

could be more delusional than having a church Doctrine (the pretribulation rapture) that completely ignores Christ own words?

Who misuses scripture again?

How Satan Misuses Scripture to Devour People (Matt. 4:5-7; Lk. 4:9-12)

Mathew 24: 29-31

“Immediately after the distress of those days

“‘the sun will be darkened,

    and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[b]

Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

"The love of the truth" is this:

Matthew 24:9-11

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

"At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other..."

Because they ignored Christ own words and bought into the spirit of the Antichrist which said they were gonna get a magic carpet ride out of trouble to who knows where, until who knows when? When they don't get it? And they have to endure the tribulation? They're gonna turn their backs on each other and their God.

"For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth..."

Margaret MacDonald visions helped bring about the pre-tribulation view of the rapture of the church.

However:

"When MacDonald's utterance is read closely, her statements appear to present a posttribulationist scenario ("being the fiery trial which is to try us" and "for the purging and purifying of the real members of the body of Jesus").[11][12]

Confusion on this point was enhanced because while MacDonald's vision as first published in 1840 describes a post-tribulation view of the rapture, a version published in 1861 lacked two important passages that appear to present a post-tribulation view

Margaret MacDonald Visions

"This is the fiery trial which is to try us. - It will be for the purging and purifying of the real members of the body of Jesus

(Yes it will, see Matthew 24:9-11 above)

and

"The trial of the Church is from Antichrist. It is by being filled with the Spirit that we shall be kept".

Who edited those utterances out of her vision and why?

See 2 Thessalonians 2:11 again.

The "delight in wickedness" is believing you're not going to suffer during the tribulation when the scripture says the exact opposite, again, that's "the refusing the love of the truth."

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers

(11) And for this cause--i.e., because they did not care whether things were true or not. This verse is not a mere repetition of 2Thessalonians 2:9-10. There we were told of external dangers which would attend Antichrist's coming for them that perish: because they had not cared for truth, therefore the presence of the Man of Sin, which could not even imperil the truth-lovers, would for them be full of special marvels and frauds by which they might be misled.

(The truth is you're going to go through the tribulation and you're going to suffer and God's been known to allow deceptive spirits to come on people to serve his purpose, see below)

Here is set forth the effect upon their own selves of refusing to accept God's gift of love of truth:

God takes from them (by His natural law) their power of discerning the true from the false, and thus (as it were) actually deceives them. Every wilful sin does this double mischief: it strengthens the power of the temptation without; it weakens the power to resist within.

For an illustration, see 2Chronicles 18:7; 2Chronicles 18:22 :

Ahab cares only for the pleasant, not the true, and the Lord requites him by sending forth a lying spirit to entice him.

"Caring for only the pleasant, not the true,"

(Suffering through tribulation, or some escapist satanic nonsense that completely ignores the word of Christ. You be the judge.)

Shall send.--The Greek has sendeth: so "is" in 2Thessalonians 2:9 : St. Paul sees it all going on before his eyes. "A strong delusion" should be "an effectual inward working of error"--no longer a mere indifference to truth, but a real influence of error upon their hearts. This inward work of error is sent "with a view to their believing the lie" (the Greek has the definite article)--the lie (that is) which Antichrist would have them believe. A terrible combination when God and Satan are agreed to deceive a man! Yet what an encouragement to see God using Satan for His own purposes.

Again, left out of the second publishing of Margret mcDonalds visions. Odd to me that they tell you EXACTLY why Christians will go through the tribulation period

"It will be for the purging and purifying of the real members of the body of Jesus" and  "The trial of the Church is from Antichrist. It is by being filled with the Spirit that we shall be kept".

Pulpit Commentary

Verse 11. - For this cause; on account of their being destitute of a love of the truth. God shall send them; or rather, God sends them; the present being chosen because the apostasy had already commenced, the mystery of lawlessness was already working. Strong delusion; or, a working of error (R.V.)

(Pre-tribulation = a working error. It ignores Christ own words for goodness sakes! What other Church doctrine does this?!)

These words are not to be weakened, as if they meant merely that in righteous judgment God permitted strong delusion to be sent them; the words are not a mere assertion of judicial permission, but of actual retribution. It is the ordinance of God that the wicked by their wicked actions fall into greater wickedness, and that thus sin is punished by sin; and what is an ordinance of God is appointed by God himself. That they should believe a lie; or rather, the lie, namely the falsehood which the man of sin disseminates by his deceit of unrighteousness. Being destitute of the love of the truth, they are necessarily led to believe a lie - their minds are open to all manner of falsehood and delusion.

"the lie, namely the falsehood which the man of sin disseminates by his deceit of unrighteousness."

Tell me that doesnt describe having a church Doctrine that ignores Christ own words.

People dont want the truth.

People want pleasant.

God says okay, here you go...if you fall for this? The pretribulation rapture of the church?

Youre gonna be in for a rude awakening.

In the words of the speaker at Central Baptist Church last Sunday evening:

"Ignorance will lead you into desperation and despair."

Yup...I'd go with Christ own words if I was you:

“Immediately after the distress of those days“‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven."

I didn't even mention the fact that by the time the great tribulation is over?

All that is left is the elect:

Matthew 24:31

"...when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other."

and:

Matthew 24:21-22

The Abomination of Desolation

…For at that time there will be great tribulation, unmatched from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again. If those days had not been cut short, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short.

So the elect (and they are not all believers mind you) are the only members of the body of Christ to go through tribulation?

Where is everybody else?

I mean how many holes ya gotta punch in somebody's argument before you see it for the swiss cheese it is?

Like I said, anybody anywhere anytime. Minimal prep time. I know who puts the words in my mouth. Go watch the video from the other night reading the comments on Acts 3 and 4 and tell me thats me reading that fast unrehearsed.

We got to start getting this right. It's part of the commision honey :-).

I love you baby.
