just don't wanna work anymore."
Seems to be somewhat of a mantra you hear these days.
Why in the world would they want to when all they are going to do is keep falling farther and farther behind?
"The average American debt (per U.S. adult) is $58,604"
And that was before the FED started raising interest rates, so now its gonna just continue to get worse.
"There's dignity in work."
When all it does is get you farther in debt?
Interesting concept.
My generation was the first one to face this in this country.
No wonder everybody is just saying forget it.
The jobs are crappy,
the pay is low,
the hours are long
and the benefits are non existent.
That just might have a lot to do with it.
Yup.
Exactly.
What she said.
COVID and shut downs exposed just how bad the work/life balance was for a ton of people in this country.
And people forget, work is a curse:
Genesis 3:17
And to Adam He said: “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat, cursed is the ground because of you; through toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.
Like the lady said in the Spiritual Gifts classes:
"God didn't intend for you to have one job, let alone three."
Curse gets lifted though :-).
Revelation 22:3 KJV
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
How are people not "slaves" to their debts? How are you not merely a glorified "indentured servant" to your emploer with $58,604 hanging around your neck?
You are better off living in a garage with hardly any possessions and minimal ($800 :-) debt, than you are to try and play this rigged game and keep falling farther and farther behind.
Yup...truth...and a lot of people have either figured that out, or they know they are so far behind they're never gonna catch up so whats the point any more.
"When I was just a little boy
Standin' to my Daddy's knee
My Papa said "Son, don't let the man get you
And do what he done to me
'Cause he'll get you
'Cause he'll get ya now, now"
