Whats really being said here is:

"I am trying to be a jerk..."

"I do hope you take this the way I know you are going to..."

"I am trying to upset you..." etc

I've told you all along, I dont like practical joker types much cause everything is only okay as long as its focused on the other party as soon as things get turned around back on them?

then they play innocent victim and dont like the very same behaviors that they exhibited to others etc...
