forgot to say something in that Guardian piece by Robert Reich and it's this:

This is really not a good thing.
Raising rates hurts those at the bottom the most
and just puts more $ in the hands of the wealthy

but if we dont raise rates above inflation then inflation gets out of hand.
Everywhere we go,
and everything we are trying to do
to pend off disaster
is just
damned if we do,
damned if we dont.

There's just no good options anywhere anymore...
