2 Corinthians Part 1

2 Corinthians 1:6-7

If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.
And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

2 Corinthians 1:24

Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm.

2 Corinthians 2:17

Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit.
On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.

2 Corinthians 4:2

Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.

2 Corinthians 4:6

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4:16

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 5:7-9

For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

2 Corinthians 5:13

If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God
if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

1 Corinthians Part 2

1 Corinthians 13:2

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:8

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 Corinthians 14:1
Intelligibility in Worship

Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.

1 Corinthians 14:3-5

But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.

1 Corinthians 14:12

So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.

1 Corinthians 14:39

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

1 Corinthians 15:23-26

But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.
For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

1 Corinthians 15:35-44

The Resurrection Body

But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

1 Corinthians 15:50-54

I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:13-14

If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith

1 Corinthians Part 1

1 Corinthians 1:18
Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 2:7

No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

1 Corinthians 2:9

However, as it is written:

“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—

1 Corinthians 2:14

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 4:2-5

Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

1 Corinthians 4:12-13

We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless;when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world—right up to this moment.

1 Corinthians 8:2-3

Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know. But whoever loves God is known by God.

1 Corinthians 9:3-14

(Edited for brevity)
This is my defense to those who sit in judgment on me.
Don’t we have the right to food and drink?
Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas?

Who serves as a soldier at his own expense?
Who plants a vineyardand does not eat its grapes?
Who tends a flock and does not drink the milk?
Do I say this merely on human authority?
Yes, this was written for us, because whoever plows and threshes should be able to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest.
If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?
If others have this right of support from you, shouldn’t we have it all the more?

But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ.

Don’t you know that those who serve in the temple get their food from the temple, and that those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar?
In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.

1 Corinthians 9:24-26
The Need for Self-Discipline

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?
Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.
They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.

1 Corinthians 10:21

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too;
you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.

1 Corinthians 10:24

No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

1 Corinthians 12:8-11

To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

1 Corinthians 12:28

And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.

Romans Part 2

Romans 9:20

But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”

Romans 10:11

As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

Romans 11:5

So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.

Romans 12:1

A Living Sacrifice

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Godthis is your true and proper worship.

Romans 12:6

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;

(The more faith you have? The more you should use your gift.)

Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Romans 12:14

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
(Huge!)

Romans 12:16

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Romans 13:12

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Romans Part 1

Romans 1:17

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealeda righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Romans 1:18-21

God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened

Romans 1:28-32

Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Romans 1:13

I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.

Romans 2:19-21

"if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself?..."

Romans 5:3-5

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Romans 8:18

Present Suffering and Future Glory

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Romans 8:29

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

(It Doesn't say he "foreknew" everybody.
"Firstborn" comes into play again for those following along at home :-).

Romans 8:33

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.

(RNM
"'Cos I'n'I no expect to be justified by the laws of men -
by the laws of men."
I and I = me and my brothers)

Romans 9:7

Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children.
On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”

(Supernatural birth of a promise :-). Go figure right?)

ACTS

Acts 2:17-20

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

Acts 2:45

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Acts 3:22

For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.

Acts 5:36-38

Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.

Acts 7:52

Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him—

Acts 8:20

Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!

Acts 14:22

Acts 18:9-10

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.  For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

Acts 20:22

“And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.

(Kinda do actually, someday :-).

Acts 26:24-25

At this point Festus interrupted Paul’s defense. “You are out of your mind, Paul!” he shouted. “Your great learning is driving you insane.”
“I am not insane, most excellent Festus,” Paul replied. “What I am saying is true and reasonable.

(Yeah, got a real good laugh with this one :-)

Acts 28:31

He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance

(We are not to be timid)

Apparently he left a note.
Authorities aren't saying much about it.

Go figure.
I'm sure they're dumbfounded.

It's really not all that hard to understand.

Revelation 12:12

"...He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”

Love you Lucy.

:-)

Glad I got to see him twice.
Glad Nicholas, Alan, Dave and I saw him in Evansville when we had the chance.

"Watch

Indeed.

RIP Tom.

What a loss :-(

Would have loved to have met him.
Haven't been hit this hard by a musicians death since SRV.

"his songs stayed down-to-earth, with sturdy guitar riffs carrying lyrics that spoke for underdogs and ornery outcasts"

John Part 2

John 12:24-26

Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

John 12:35-36

Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.

John 12:44-48

Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

“If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.

John 13:14-17

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

John 13:18
Jesus Predicts His Betrayal

“I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turned against me.’

John 13:20

Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”

John 14:12

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

John 14:16-17

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

John 14:23

Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

John 15:8

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

John 15:18-19

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

John 15:26
The Work of the Holy Spirit

“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.

John 20:22

And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

John 16:12-16

“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

John Part 1

John 1:5

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 3:6

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

John 3:8

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

John 3:11-12

Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things

John 3:19

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

John 6:35

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 7:15

The Jews there were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning without having been taught?”

John 7:16-17

Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me. Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

John 7:18

Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

John 7:24

Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”

John 8:43-44

Why is my language not clear to you?
Because you are unable to hear what I say.
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.
He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him.
When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 8:47

Whoever belongs to God hears what God says.
The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

John 10:25-26

Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.

Luke Part 3

Luke 15:10

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

Luke 16:8-13

“The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light. I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Luke 16:26

And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

(The wicked will be separated from the righteous.
There will be no crossing over from one to the other once that day comes.)

Luke 17:20-21
The Coming of the Kingdom of God

Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.

Luke 17:33

Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.

Luke 18:7-8

And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?

Luke 18:11-14

The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Luke 19:8-9

But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

Luke 21:9

When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”

Luke 21:14

But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.

(Done.)

Luke 21:16-19

You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. Stand firm, and you will win life.

Luke 22:27-30

For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. You are those who have stood by me in my trials.  And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Luke 23:28-30

Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’

Luke 24:25

He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

Luke 24:45

Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

Luke Part 2

Luke 11:8

I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.

Luke 11:34-36

Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.”

Luke 11:16-21

Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe.

Luke 12:22-24

Do Not Worry

Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!

Luke 12:29-31

And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Luke 12:47-48

“The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

(Better to not know and not do, than to know and not do.)

Luke 12:51

Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.

Yikes!

Luke 13:24-28

“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
“But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.

Luke 13:33

In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!

Luke 14:26

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:33

In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.

Luke Part 1

Luke 1:17

And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

Luke 3:9

The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

(If you are a big tree? I am a small ax)

Luke 4:18-19

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
(Isaiah 61:1,2)

Love this one Lucy, for a variety of reasons :-).

Luke 6:27-31

Love for Enemies

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Luke 6:32-36

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Luke 6:41-42

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Luke 6:46-49
The Wise and Foolish Builders

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Luke 7:35

"But wisdom is proved right by all her children.”

Luke 8:15

But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

Luke 9:61-62

Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.”
Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

Luke 10:17-19

The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Luke 10:23

Then he turned to his disciples and said privately,
“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.

Mark

Mark 3:28-30

Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”

He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”

Mark 4:11-12

He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that,

“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’”

Mark 5:9

Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.”

Mark 6:4

Jesus said to them,
“A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.”

Mark 7:20

He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them.

Mark 9:35

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

Mark 10:21

Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Mark 15:38

The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

Matthew Part 3

Matthew 19:21

Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Matthew 19:28

Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Matthew 20:15

Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money?
Or are you envious because I am generous?’

Matthew 21:27

So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Then he said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

Matthew 21:32

For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

Matthew 21:43

“Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.

Matthew 22:14

“For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

Matthew 22:16

They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are.

Matthew 23:34

Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.

Matthew 24:10

At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
(End times)

Matthew 24:31

And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Matthew 25:29

For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.

Matthew 10:34

“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

(Ouch, people forget that one Lucy.)

Matthew 10:37-39

Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

(This one will once again be its own blog post here soon.)

Matthew 11:9

Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

Matthew 11:14-15

And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.
Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Matthew 12:34-35

You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

Matthew 12:43-45

“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”

Matthew 13:12

Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.

Matthew 17:12

But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.”

Matthew Part 1

Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:46-47

46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

Matthew 6:33-34

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 7:12

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 7:13-14
The Narrow and Wide Gates

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matthew 7:16-18

By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Matthew 7:26-27

But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.

Matthew 10:18-20

On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Matthew 10:22

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

And now?

You ready for this?

Second verse same as the first I like to say :-).

New Testament time!
Verses that for whatever reason jumped out at me the first time through reading the book in it's entirety, were highlighted and gone over a second time.
Now being posted here.

Love you Lucy.

But Drew?

You're about to be very prosperous,
How will you reconcile this with being a man of God?

Like I say, I can already hear them.

Well?

Revelation 2:7

"...To the one who is victorious,
I will give the right to eat from the tree of life
which is in the paradise of God.

God given right.
Nobody else has the ability to take it away.

Besides, we will always give away a higher percentage of our wealth than our critics Lucy.
So let them criticize.
As my dad always said?
That's what they get paid to do.

RNM

"Possession make ya rich?
I no have that type of richness.
My richness is life,
forever."

Afternoon Lucy

Love you sweetheart.

You

know?

It finally came to me the other day.

When you said:
"I want you all to myself."
It wasn't really you doing the talking.
I know this feeling.
I get it myself sometimes.
Same thing for when you said:
"You owe them no alegence."
When you were talking about my family.
It wasn't you doing the talking.

Finally figuring out things and at least now days I have several individuals who are encouraging and supportive of whats going on.
It makes a big difference Lucy.

Love you sweetheart.

Gotta get.

"Bob

Poet and a Prophet.
Bob Marley
Walk it
Like he talk it."

RNM

"Many more will have to suffer,
Many more will have to die - don't ask me why.

Things are not the way they used to be,
I won't tell no lie;
One and all have to face reality now."

Exactly

Know

that feeling too :-).

Know the feeling

Get on board

Couldbn't find a real good version.

Somebody said?

Christ

new church?

Simple.
Easy.

We've messed things up and made it way more complicated than it needs to be:

So here it is.

Love your neighbor as yourself.
Love your God with all your heart mind body soul and strength.
(This Includes your prayers)
Be humble.
Do good to those who despise you.
Expect nothing.
Ever.
Give everything.
Always.
Be thankful always,
even more so in times of distress.
Know your book.

That's about it.
No denominations.
No schisms.
No Theology or Ideology.

Pure Worship.
Period.

Certian

signs or acts have to come to fruition before we reach the end times.
Can't emphasize that enough.
Before we reach the end times.
Talked about this a lil last week.

One of them has already been met.

Revelation 6:11

"And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled."

The day before this?

Revelation 12 1-2

"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered."

It happened.
September 23rd, 2017.
Christ new church is about to be born.

If you were Satan wouldn't you be pissed?
Of course you would.
There's two criterion.

A third one is well on it's way.
I don't know the exact date :-) date
but I'll know when it happens and trust me I'll speak out about it.

"The two witnesses"

 Revelation 11

Seriously, this one is right around the corner.

And?

Revelation 7:1

The four winds:
Representing the US, China, Russia and Radical Islam .
Once these are all equal in strength?
The angels holding back the four winds will quit holding them back and they will be turned loose.

This is what has to happen to get to the beginning of the end times.

This is from someone who prayed to given insight and understanding, to put at least some of the puzzle pieces together, when reading this book.

I've seen and am currently living miracles.
I really don't care what anybody says.
Just don't.
Won't either.

The whole point of all this is not to scare anyone.

But to say:
This is real.
It's happening.
Last chance to get on board.

Freedom train is coming

If you don't know how to get on board??
Ask someone you trust who knows how.

Otherwise?

Think of the ordeal that caused you the greatest emotional turmoil of your life.
Divorce?
Death of a child?
Death of a spouse?
Loss of a job, a home?
Whatever put you through the greatest emotional toil of your existence.
Now times that by 10,000
and set the duration for eternity.
The book says it will be like worms eating your flesh that will never die.
And you won't either.
That will be your eternity.
Eternity.
Sounds great right?
  It's easy enough to avoid.
Ask someone.

Peace.

But Drew?

Why should we believe your interpretation of events from the book of Revelation?
So many others throughout the years blah blah blah...
I can just already hear it in my head.

Well?
I'll tell ya.
Here is why:

How many of you believed me when I said I was going to marry a certain young lady whom I had only spent a few hours with?

Now here we are over five years latter and without ever having knowingly spoke with one another whats getting ready to happen?

Exactly.

Guess what?
My interpretation of ongoing events these days and how they relate to the book of Revelation and the wedding that is getting ready to take place soon?

Part and parcel of the same process.
They are not two isolated individual events.
They are both part of the same process that is unfolding.

So there you go.
That's why I would listen.

You know anybody else ever that ever married someone they haven't spoke to in over five years?
That they felt like they knew instantaneously from the moment they met them?

I'm pretty easy to find if somebody wants to come tell me about it.

Love you Lucy.

First

of all sympathy and prayers to the victims and to the families of the victims in the Las Vegas shooting.
I haven't read anything, I only heard sketchy details this AM and that was it.

I do know this.

Last week I said that the Nashville Shooter had fulfilled the prophecy of the fifth seal being opened in that he had committed the murder that met the threshold for those holding to their belief in God, and being murdered for it, for him to release his vengeance upon the earth.

Revelation 6:9-11

"You are more than they told us."
he said,
referring to the armies of God he was allowed to see that he was about to unleash by committing his horrendous act.

This message?
From the Nashville shooter last Sunday?

“Everything you've ever doubted or made to be believe as false, is real. & vice versa, B.”

Intended for non-believers.
Are you getting this?
A demon of Satan himself is telling you:
“Everything you've ever doubted or made to be believe as false, is real. & vice versa,..."

Yesterday after church I was talking to a friend of mine and telling him my interpretation of events from last Sunday.
I said:
"Satan is pissed, he knows what happened last Sunday and what threshold was crossed. He knows how this ends and it's not good for him, he's been putting it off as long as he could. We should expect to see more of this, not less.'

Then?
The Las Vegas shooting.

Evening Knucklehead

Love you.
Busy day, not a lot of time, gotta get righht to business.
