said a while back we're gonna be all up in some Hosea, for a variety of reasons,

none the less of which is:

Hosea 4:6

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

The people didn't have knowledge because the priest of the day didn't teach it, so they both will suffer the same fate.

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
