Holy Spirit
has,
can
and if need be
will
drop Christians dead in their tracks
if need be.
(Not something you hear to many sermons on.
No wonder right?
God bless Bro Joe for preaching on this BTW)
So you don't think so?
Well what other parts of scripture do you wanna contest then?
Acts 5
Ananias and Sapphira
Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet.
Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”
(The question you might wanna ask yourself is this:
How did Peter know that Ananias kept
some of the money for him and his wife?
Notice it doesn't say anybody told him so.
Just that
"you have lied to the Holy Spirit".
Peter knew
by the power of the spirit
alive and working in him
what had been done with the money.)
When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. Then some young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him.
About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. Peter asked her, “Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?”
“Yes,” she said, “that is the price.”
Peter said to her,
“How could you conspire
to test the Spirit of the Lord?
(Sound familiar?
Sure does to me.)
Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.”
At that moment she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband. Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events.
This is the early church of which
Ananias and Sapphira were involved in otherwise why would they be selling land and giving $ to it?
They were Christians
who conspired
to test the will of God
and were knocked down dead
because they did.
"Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events."
(Seems a lil familiar too TBH)
It was to teach the early church members a lesson. You are messing with the power that created the universe and the owner and giver of the life force. Mess around with it and see what happens to you.
Looks like I'm in good company when I say I'm a big fan of killing ants with a sledgehammer, it keeps the other ants in line.
And to those who would say?
"Yeah but you don't know...
you shouldn't say..."
fill in your own blank,
etc.
Heres my response:
How did I know everything else
that has been proven true
over years
even though
I shouldn't have been able to
have known it?
Please come clue me in.
All ears.
One simple answer.
THE SAME WAY PETER KNEW.
Literal Meaning:
To be sent with a message.
"Well I still don't think you should have...etc"
Would you have told Peter
that he should have done things
differently?
The same power is in play
here
and now
lest I remind you:
"When Ananias heard this,
he fell down and died.
"At that moment
she fell down at his feet and died."
Seems like Satan is itching for somebody to be next if you ask me. I've been saying for years its gonna happen again...keep messing with the power of the holy spirit working through somebody and you'll see what's gonna happen to you.
And while were at it?
As you look around at your empty churches on this Easter Sunday?
Remember this:
7 out of 10
"Christians"
don't believe in the resurrection.
So why are they even there?
Being a goody two shoes
and going to church
and bible study
every time the doors open
and being a song leader
or a youth director
or a Sunday School teacher
and living as good
and as sinless a life
as you possibly can
WILL NOT
DO ANYTHING
to get you admitted
into the kingdom of God.
Ephesians 2:8
For it is
by grace you have been saved,
through faith—
and this is not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God.
No faith in Gods grace
(Unmerited favor)
given to you?
No admittance into the kingdom.
No matter how sinless a life you lead.
That is making it dependent upon your actions. That's heresy.
And if that was the case? Then there's no need for Christ to have died and been resurrected.
(And no that doesn't mean its okay to just keep on sinning willy nilly ect, it means you will try not to sin, even though he already knows youre gonna continue. The point is to do the best you can and understand that you are no more deserving of Gods grace than the addict face down in the street in their own vomit on Sunday morning.
(Something a lot of uppity "Christians" seem all to willing to forget.)
Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord,
did we not prophesy
in your name and in your name
drive out demons
and in your name
perform many miracles?’
Then I will tell them plainly,
‘I never knew you.
Away from me, you evildoers!’
See what they did?
They made it about what they did
instead of what was done for them
that they didn't deserve.
(Grace, unmerited favor,
eternal life with your creator.)
I love you honey.
:-).
