The Swiss Foreign Ministry confirmed early on Friday that the scheduled Iran-US ceasefire talks would not proceed, after Iran withdrew due to the ongoing Israeli occupation and war on Lebanon, the cessation of which was a key pillar of the memorandum of understanding, leading US Vice President JD Vance to also cancel his flights.
The Israeli occupation has vowed their aggression against Lebanon will continue in full force. Just since midnight on Friday, the IOF killed more than 30 Lebanese civilians after bombing more than 25 residential sites as they continue to try to advance toward the Kfar Tebnit-Ali Taher area, meeting fierce resistance.
Upon signing the memorandum, Iran's Foreign Ministry emphasized that "Lebanon is mentioned three times in the MoU. Ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, is a precondition for starting and continuing negotiations. The continued Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon violates the MoU, and we will take the necessary measures."
Its a "fluid" situation
