Sanctified

The Sanctified

1 Corinthians 6:11

And that is what some of you were.
But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

2 Thessalonians 2:3

13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

John 17:19

For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

Acts 20:32

“Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace,
which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
(People are about to see it)

Acts 26:18

to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Romans 15:16

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 1:2

To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:

1 Corinthians 7:14

For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

Hebrews 10:29

How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Epilogue

Not everyone gets to experience sanctifying grace or becoming sanctified.
Just how it works.

Ever walk in a room of believers and feel like you were a chandelier in a room full of matches?
Chances are you've been sanctified then.
It's not "better", that is not the final point were working toward here.
It's just different, set apart from others for a specific task.
1 Corinthians 1:2 puts forth the differences as clearly as could be drawn.

A bible search for the word sanctified?
Only referenced in the scripture nine times.
If it's only mentioned on nine occasions?
How often do you really think it occurs?

Again, inference.
