Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Job 14:7-9
“At least there is hope for a tree:
If it is cut down, it will sprout again,
and its new shoots will not fail.
Its roots may grow old in the ground
and its stump die in the soil,
yet at the scent of water it will bud
and put forth shoots like a plant.
Habakkuk 2:14
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
"...shall ye not know it?"
Some of the old ways were cut off as heretics, the desert fathers etc. Protestant denominations largely cut out Mysticism, oneness w divinity is real, a solid believe in the supernatural etc (The Industrial and Scientific revolutions played a big role). The Quaker concept of Celestial Habitation, the Methodist doctrine of entire sanctification, the "angel" interpretation of Genesis 6, The tradition of Tabitha as one of the Two Witnesses...and on and on...
These are but some of the trees that were cut down.
"its new shoots will not fail."
(Concept borrowed from John Crowders book, "The New Mystics" and expanded)
The point is, it's here.
