Its a lot bigger deal than you are being led to believe

It was an obvious

 deliberate escalation.

Emphasis on the "For now" part...

Israel, Iran play down apparent Israeli strike.

The muted responses could calm tensions -- for now

"the apparent Israeli strike early Friday"

Think its an accident it happened on aFriday?

On e thing I have noticed being a commentator on media (along with a BA in MASS COMM) and having done this for well over a decade now is the details of events often get hid over the course of the weekend when people are busy trying to enjoy themselves.

Translation?

It wasn't an accident it happened on a Friday.

It appears we’re closer than ever to a broad regional war, despite the fact that the international community will most likely make a great effort to de-escalate tensions,” wrote Amos Harel, the military-affairs commentator for the Israeli daily Haaretz."

"Israel has long considered Iran to be its greatest enemy — citing the Islamic Republic’s calls for Israel’s destruction, its controversial nuclear program and its support for hostile proxies across the Middle East."

"He (Yoel Guzansky, a former Iran expert in the Israeli prime minister’s office and a a senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies, a Tel Aviv think tank.) said “the current round” of violence appears to be over, but that “nothing has changed” with Israel still facing Iranian-backed threats on various fronts.

“I see further rounds,” he said. And the next time, if Iran surprises Israel or allies don’t assist in Israel’s defense, “the outcome will be different.”

(This piece was done when?

Oh yeah, Friday night

when everybody would be reading it right?

Hardly.)

"Charles Lister, a senior fellow at the Washington-based Middle East Institute and a longtime regional analyst, challenged Iran’s claims that drones carried out the attacks. It appears instead that a small number of Israeli aircraft flew from Israel over Syria — striking at least two southern Syria military bases that have air defense systems along the way, he said."

"They then entered Iraqi airspace, from where they fired a small number of Blue Sparrow air-to-surface ballistic missiles, likely without ever entering Iranian airspace, Lister said.'

(That's exactly what Marco Rubio stated just hours after the attack as well.

"Accounts of explosions over Iraq support that scenario, and so does debris from what appears to be the booster of an Israeli-made Blue Sparrow missile that Iraqi security found in a field outside Baghdad, Lister said."

“Neither side is ready to jump over the brink," said Alex Vatanka, director of the Iran program at the Middle East Institute. But he added a major caveat.

“Probably we’re going to go back to the proxy war, “ he said, but now it’s a proxy war with the risk of “that sudden eruption of state-to-state war. Which we didn’t have to worry about before.”

The Israelis  hit some of the radar arrays at the Natanz Nuclear facility. They took out radars along the way, at a minimum at least in Syria.

Alleged Israeli airstrike targets Syrian Army site - report

From Sunday.

When everybody is reading the news right?

"An alleged Israeli airstrike targeted a radar site belonging to the Syrian Army between the towns of Izraa and Naamer in southern Syria on Saturday night, according to Arabic media.

Syrian air defenses were activated in response to the airstrike, which included at least one missile, according to Sputnik."

(This is the day after he hit on Iran on Friday.

Everybody that heard about this raise your hands.

Exactly...)

Satellite image appears to show damaged Iranian radar allegedly struck by Israel

"Surrounding Russian-made S-300 air defense missile launchers largely unscathed in attack that reportedly targeted embattlements guarding secret Natanz nuclear site"

"An image aired by an Iranian opposition news outlet Sunday appeared to show significant damage to a radar system near a secretive Iranian nuclear site, after an alleged Israeli strike last week.

The destroyed remains of what was reported to be an anti-aircraft mobile radar station could be seen in the satellite image published by Iran International, with the ground around it charred black.

Satellite images of the site captured before the alleged attack early Friday showed the same “flap-lid” radar intact and surrounded by an array of four Russian-made S-300 mobile anti-aircraft missile launchers and other vehicles related to the air defense system."

"Imagery taken Friday, hours after the attack, showed the missile launchers removed from the air defense system at the Eighth Shekari Air Base in Isfahan.

In the photo released Sunday, at least three of the missile launchers had apparently been returned."

"The New York Times reported on Saturday that Israel used a high-tech missile that was able to evade Iran’s radar systems to attack the site, in a move meant to send a message of deterrence by displaying Israel’s offensive abilities.

It cited two Iranian officials as saying that the S-300 system was hit in the attack. The air defense post was reported to be part of an array defending the nearby top-secret Natanz nuclear site, some 100 kilometers away."

The Iranian officials told the newspaper that Iran had not detected intrusions into its airspace from drones, missiles or aircraft."

"Two unnamed Western officials cited by the newspaper said the missile aimed to show Tehran that Israel is able to dodge and neutralize its defenses, in a move meant to force Iran to rethink launching another direct attack on Israel."

(This is my whole point.

There is so much more going on here

than what you are being told.)

"Also, around the time of the incident in Iran, Syria’s state-run SANA news agency quoted a military statement saying Israel carried out a missile strike targeting a southern air defense unit and causing damage. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor of unclear funding, said the strike hit a military radar for government forces.

That area of Syria is directly west of Isfahan, some 1,500 kilometers (932 miles) away and east of Israel, and could provide an indication of the route taken by Israeli jets."

"The deeply fortified underground Natanz enrichment site has been repeatedly targeted by suspected Israeli sabotage attacks, but the reported strike on the S-300 radar would appear to be the first direct Israeli military attack in an area thought to contain much of Iran’s nuclear production capability."

"The alleged Israeli strike came after Jerusalem indicated it would retaliate for Iran’s decision to launch over 300 missiles and armed drones at Israel overnight April 13-14, an unprecedented volley which itself came in reaction to an alleged Israeli strike on Iran’s consulate compound in Damascus on April 1 that killed several members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp, including a top officer."

The alleged Israeli strike came after Jerusalem indicated it would retaliate for Iran’s decision to launch over 300 missiles and armed drones at Israel overnight April 13-14, an unprecedented volley which itself came in reaction to an alleged Israeli strike on Iran’s consulate compound in Damascus on April 1 that killed several members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp, including a top officer."

Iran’s insistence that the strike was carried out by drones and caused no damage appeared to be part of an effort to play down its severity, with a senior Iranian official casting doubt on whether Israel had been behind the attack and saying there were no plans to hit the country back.

(Don't kid yourself.

We are downplaying the attack as well.)

"Israel has not officially commented on the strike, in line with its strategy of ambiguity regarding actions abroad, meant to give those it attacks maneuverability to avoid pressure to retaliate."

So?

The question becomes:

Why are we not hearing much about any of this?

Why is this outside of the "mainstream" narrative?

Remember all of these reports were over the course of the weekend it's already established that this is when things get buried even in a supposed 24/7 news cycle.

So why?

I purpose two reasons:

1) The powers that be do not want you to know the severity of the situation and just how precarious things are in the Middle East right now. But why Drew? Hey, anything to keep that "overheated economy" (not my phrase BTW) trucking along at all cost right?

2) The same powers do not want you to know just how well things are currently lining up with the events foretold in this book:
