Birds etc lol...

Hadn't felt very good lately

so it felt good to get back in the

carport and do a lil project etc...

I think it turned out alright.

Honey likes it so

thats all that matters.

:-).

(Others do as well.)

Mr. Nuthatch here

is about to have a feast

if he ever gets around to it lol.

I reloaded up his log feeder.

Every hole has a mix of
crushed peanuts, raisins
and peanut butter,
with songbird seed as the topping lol.

Yeah our birds are spoiled lol.

He is the only one
we have seen on that particular
"Log feeder."

I keep hoping we get a big woodpecker on it
but so far no luck.

Nuthatches are cool though.
"Gravity defying"
they have been called.

They can walk upside down,
hang on bottoms of limbs,
pinecones etc.

When I went to get the phone to take the picture
he was hanging sideways off of the tree
picking at the suet with his beak lol.

Off subject lol.

Beans and cornbread yesterday.
OMGoodness so good.

Tons of pig fat lol.
2 big old onions chopped up too.

Double batch of cornbread.

Oil heated up in the
cast iron skillet first.

Let it sit for 5 minutes
when it was done.

Took a spatula and
 "popped" it out
of the skillet
so it doesn't "sweat".

I don't quite get it
I think it has to do with
putting some air
between the cornbread and
the skillet so it doesn't
just keep cooking.

It was a mom thing.
Works lol.

It was good.
Real good.

Cheap eats man.
I crave it
every once in a while.

11 different feeders.

Counting the sunflower heads as well.

One of which cant hardly be seen.

We love our tree.

We really do.

In the late afternoon

or early evening,

the sun hits it just right.

Just happened to catch it yesterday

at the right time.

Ill have to try and get another one

when the leaves turn more here in a bit.

Honey calls it the
"Flintstone feeder"
due to the privative look lol.

Split a piece of firewood in half
and hollowed out the bottom
for the food "trough"

Slapped it together
with some other
smaller limbs,
put a piece of scrap metal
on the top
just for shits and giggles.

A couple of pieces of hardware
 and some chain later and:

Walla.

Different kinda log feeder.

Lol.

Got the ideas from

"Birds and Blooms" on line.

I subscribe to their emails etc

so it's pretty fun.

That feeder was probably

less than $5 to make.

Point was

it felt good

to be able

to have some energy

and wanna get around

and work on a few things.

It had been a while.

God Bless.

Love ya everybody.
