The Light

be it physical or spiritual.

Light always illuminates the darkness.
Never does the darkness illuminate the light.
If it wasn't for light you would never know what darkness is because it is only without light that darkness becomes apparent.
Light is apparent without the darkness.
They are not opposites but the end points of the same continuum.
Darkness alone can never extinguish the light.
But light by itself does illuminate darkness.

So?
Whats the point in all of this?

Get this one a lot, "Well if God is so all knowing and all powerful why did he have to create Satan then Huh? Why? Huh?"

Well?
I don't know, to prove that his natural and universal laws apply to the spiritual as well maybe?
How's that grab ya?

Here is another one, "Science and math, science and math, blah blah blah we're gonna figure it all out with just science and math."

Really?
How do people think the laws of science and math got here?

They just created themselves out of nothingness along with that subatomic particle that exploded and gave us the universe I suppose.

Time isn't linear ;-)

I told Bro Joe that once and he just kind of laughed at me. Looking back? I'm thinking now the words were put in my mouth. To us maybe time is linear so it makes sense but I really don't think Gods time is. Timelines are to help man make sense of things, what would God need them for? Does he not already know whats going to happen, how and when? Reading the visions of the prophets and they all seem to take place in Gods realm, on his turf, in his dimension. So if the visions being revealed are in Gods dimension? Wouldn't the "time' in the vision be his as well? IE, not understandable to us? Maybe not I guess, but it makes sense to me so I'm rolling with it :-). I mean to an entity that is infinite for all eternity? Why would he need a beginning a middle and an end? He made it (time), it will be whatever he wants it to be, whenever he wants it to be, however long it needs to be untill his conditions are right.

I can give two examples right off the top of my head.

Daniel 12 (particularly verse 7) "A time, times and a half a time" would be three and a half years which corresponds to several things in The book of Revelation, but these things haven't happened yet, surely the three and a half years mentioned in the book of Daniel are on God's time, not ours.

The "Two Witnesses" appear in between the sixth and the seventh trumpet in Revelation, chapters 8-11. I read over and over and over about how the two witnesses are to appear in between the sixth and seventh trumpets because that's where they are in this book. Never mind it doesn't ever say anywhere that that is the case. To me this is mans logic being imposed on the word. Nowhere does it say that this is what has to happen. It's just where they are put in the vision.

Don't think timeline in regard to time. Think of it like a snapshot of the packets of a large digital file being sent across multiple networks simultaneously. The picture of those packets being taken in an instant would be all the moments of all our life's with all the events and people place things we will encounter along the way.

Go ahead, have me committed, I've went over the edge :-).

Love you Lucy.

I

got asked to read the beatitudes in church yesterday :-).
Bro Joe's current sermon series is on their subject matter.

I complied :-).

won't ever do my love for you justice Lucy :-).

Glad

to see they condemned it in the strongest words possible.
It is terrorism, plain and simple.

Pretty sure I can make it another three or four days before I have to sell the frig :-).

Just rambling

Over glorification of the child

I absolutely just despise the over (emphasis on over) glorification of the child in this culture. It wasn't always like this. Seriously, it's abhorrent and out of control. Congratulations, you have a child or children, happy for you, hope you and them live long blessed lives but you know what? You aren't the only person to ever have one and you won't be the last, so please keep that in mind and try and act like it. Goes back to the whole "if your children are your life? Good luck to you when they aren't around anymore" feelings I guess.

The celebration of willful ignorance.

These days people seem to delight in being ignorant and think that their opinions, thoughts and beliefs should warrant the same considerations as experts in different areas of expertise. They don't. You chose to be willfully ignorant. Reap what you sow, but please in the meantime? Just shut the ever-livin fuck up. Goes to the whole, "I read an Internet meme, I know as much as the guy that read the twenty page white paper on a policy position." No, no you don't know as much as them and you won't.

Oh yeah,

just how in the world am I supposed to read and write 3-5 hours a day with you all over me?

Just wondering :-).

I'm thinking a time limit on Internet access?
2-3 hours a day tops.
Some in the AM, some in the evening?
Phones while waiting for things, planes, Dr's appointments, you getting dressed etc won't count :-).
Breakfast in Am with talk, followed by coffee and scouring the news feeds?
IDK, but something has to be done to keep you off of me, at least sometimes :-).

Now,

bout them ass cheeks :-).

Love you Lucy.
Time to roll. sweetheart.

Matthew 11:15

"He who has ears, let him hear."

Deuteronomy 31:29

"For I know that after my death you are sure to become utterly corrupt and to turn from the way I have commanded you.
In days to come, disaster will fall on you because you will do evil in the sight of the Lord and arouse his anger by what your hands have made.”

Deuteronomy 29: 19

"When such a person hears the words of this oath and they invoke a blessing on themselves, thinking, “I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way,” they will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry."

Deuteronomy 28:18-20

"The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.
The Lord will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him."

Deuteronomy 5: 32-33

"So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left.
Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess."

2 Peter 1:19-21

"We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."

2 Timothy 2:3

"Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus."

James 4:2-3

"You desire but do not have, so you kill.
You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight.
You do not have because you do not ask God.
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

1 Timothy 6 6-8

"But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it."

James 2:24

"You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone."

Romans 14:8

"If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord.
So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord."

Philippians 2:14

"Do everything without grumbling or arguing,"

Galatians 6: 7-8

"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.
A man reaps what he sows.
Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life."

Romans 14:17-18

"For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval."

Romans 2:5

"But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed."

Habakkuk 2:4

“See, the enemy is puffed up;
    his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness"

Acts 20:24

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace."

John 3:19

"This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil."

Mark 4:25

"Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.”

Has to me here = redemption, grace, understanding etc.
Who has it will get more of it.

"Even what they have" =  material things of this world

Woman logic :-)

Freaks out if they are gonna turn off the water, couldn't give a shit less if I have $ to eat on :-).

Love you Lucy.

Manafort

I remember watching an interview with him while Al and I were waiting for the race to come on. I think it was "This week with George Stephanopoulos". He rolled his eyes so many times and was so condescending it was just unforgettable to watch. He was only campaign chairman for Trump for a few months. The main reason I remember that particular interview is, it was the first time I had heard of the Trump campaigns strategy of making NAFTA (and free trade in general) an issue particularly in the upper Midwestern states like, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan who had seen their manufacturing base shredded to pieces. For the first time I actually had a feeling in my gut that was akin to "Oh shit, that might just work." Until I had heard that I wasn't all that concerned about Trump or his campaign.

So here is the question, who in the Trump campaign is politically astute enough to have come up with that strategy? Seriously, which of these brainiacs is smart enough to have come up with it? Who took credit for that winning strategy after Trump's victory? Nobody from what I could tell.

Know what I think? I don't think it was any of the members of the Trump campaign that came up with this strategy. If so, they would have been all over the airwaves trying to market themselves as the next Karl Rove, lord know they all seem to love their money. Nobody ever did.

There is, however, a very savvy person that lives in Moscow.

Chairman of Donald Trump's 2016 United States Presidential campaign

In March 2016, he joined the presidential campaign of Donald Trump to lead Trump's "delegate-corralling" efforts. In June 2016, Trump fired campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and promoted Manafort to the position. Manafort gained control of the daily operations of the campaign as well as an expanded $20 million budget, hiring decisions, advertising, and media strategy.[19][20][21][22]
On June 9, 2016, Manafort, Donald Trump Jr., and Jared Kushner were participants in a meeting with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya and several others at Trump Tower. A British music agent, saying he was acting on behalf of Emin Agalarov and the Russian government, had told Trump Jr. that he could obtain damaging information on Hillary Clinton if he met with a lawyer connected to the Kremlin.[23] At first Trump Jr. said the meeting had been about the Magnitsky Act; later he said the offer of information about Clinton had been a pretext to conceal Veselnitskaya's real agenda.[24]
In August 2016, Manafort's connections to former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and his Party of Regions drew national attention in the USA, where it was reported that Manafort may have illegally received $12.7 million in off-the-books funds from the Party of Regions.[25] On August 17, 2016, Donald Trump received his first security briefing.[26] Also, on August 17, 2016, the New York Times reported on an internal staff memorandum from Manafort stating that Manafort would "remain the campaign chairman and chief strategist, providing the big-picture, long-range campaign vision".[27] However, two days later, Trump announced his acceptance of Manafort's resignation from the campaign after Stephen Bannon and Kellyanne Conway took on senior leadership roles within that campaign.[28][29]

(It's also interesting to me that two days after Trump's first National Security Briefing he was let go as campaign chair.)

All

that while listening to The Black Crowes :-).

Who else?

Don't

144,000: The Chosen of the Holy Spirit

You

know?

When I was working in the NOC?
After I would get set up for the shift I would open 16, 18 tabs (Nicholas hated it when I would do it at home. :-) whatever interested me that evening and then, one by one I would read them all. Then I would go back, start over, find more articles to read and then work my way through them. Others played on their phones, their laptops, watched movies, argued with their significant other whatever.

After doing it for so long you start thinking "There is some purpose here I'm not seeing yet." I mean you just sit there and read and read and read and you think nobody else has this much time to read this much information consistently over the course of years, what gives? This for a person who was already more informed on most issues that his contemporaries long before he started doing this.

Now we've got a generation that sees a Internet meme and thinks they've read some 20 page white paper on some policy position.

Lets just say, things make more sense these days :-).

Love you Lucy.

1 John 4:4–6

"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood."

"Others

insist the numbers 12,000 and 144,000 are literal numbers and representing either descendants of Jacob (also called Israel in the Bible) or others to whom God has given a superior destiny with a distinct role at the time of the end of the world.[3]"

"We

can be Heroes, for ever and ever
What d'you say?"

Hope

you got a barber lined up or something :-).

Cause the clippers are shot and I'm not going to the barber again!

"Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Here by Thy great help I’ve come"

1 peter 2:15

"For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people."

Luke 21:14-19

"But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.
Everyone will hate you because of me.
But not a hair of your head will perish.
Stand firm, and you will win life."

Luke 12:11-12

“When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”

Goes with what I was saying the other day :-).

"Lord of all creation
Of water earth and sky
The heavens are Your Tabernacle
Glory to the Lord on high

God of wonders beyond our galaxy
You are Holy, Holy
The universe declares Your Majesty

And You are Holy Holy
Lord of Heaven and Earth
Lord of Heaven and Earth

Early in the morning
I will celebrate the light
When I stumble in the darkness
I will call Your Name by night"

Love you Lucy.
See you soon sweetheart.

"Heavens" :-).
Plural. :-).

"Come thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
I'll praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
Mount of thy redeeming love

Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by thy help I come
And I hope by thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home"

Lindsey Graham

on repealing the ACA.

“It’s like being hit by a slow-moving bus in Kansas.
You can see the bus coming,”
the South Carolina Republican told Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade in a radio interview.
“The bottom line is we didn’t fail because we didn’t have enough time.
We failed because we were not ready to solve the problem, and we didn’t have the right idea.

Told you he wasn't a nitwit ;-).

So?

I got a question for everybody.

What are you willing to die for?

Who would say,
"Go ahead, put one right between my eyes,
I know what happens afterwards
and I am not afraid.
In fact?
You would be doing me a big favor.
So go right ahead."

A person?
A house?
A bike?
Money?
Everything else that could be gone 10 minutes after you are?

No thanks.
Not me.
Eternity sounds like a much better plan.
I flat out told the man I would.
Years ago.

Promise Lucy.

So?

of course the next song in the playlist would be about addiction.
Why wouldn't it be Lucy?

"If you twist and turn away.
If you tear yourself in two again.
If I could, yes I would If I could, I would let it go.
Surrender,
dislocate.

If I could throw this lifeless life-line to the wind.
Leave this heart of clay, see you walk, walk away Into the night, and through the rain
Into the half light and through the flame.

If I could, through myself, set your spirit free
I'd lead your heart away, see you break, break away
Into the light and to the day.
To let it go and so to find away.
To let it go and so find away.

I'm wide awake.
I'm wide awake, wide awake.
I'm not sleeping.

If you should ask,
then maybe
They'd tell you what I would say
True colours fly in blue and black
Blue silken sky and burning flag.
Colours crash, collide in blood-shot eyes.

If I could, you know I would
If I could, I would let it go.
This desperation,
dislocation
Separation,
condemnation
Revelation,
in temptation
Isolation,
desolation

Let it go and so to find away
To let it go and so to find away
To let it go and so to find away

I'm wide awake,
I'm wide awake,
wide awake I'm not sleeping
Oh no, no, no."

Christian Nation

"Since 1999, the number of American overdose deaths involving opioids has quadrupled, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.
From 2000 to 2015, more than 500,000 people died of drug overdoses, and opioids account for the majority of those.
The commission said 142 Americans die from drug overdoses every day -- a toll "equal to September 11th every three weeks."

So I'm sure we will pour the proportionate amount of resources into this problem that we did in finding Osama Bin Ladin right?
Oh hell no, us being a Christian Nation and all, we will continue to lock them up, give them lil  to no treatment options and let the private prison companies make money off of them.
Seems to be what we do.

"a toll "equal to September 11th every three weeks."

Think about it.

US won't declare opioid emergency.

And

the word of the day is:

Nomenclature.

Went

riding with an older gentleman yesterday.
68 years old, did 220+ miles :-).
I'm like, "Rock on my brotha!"
Vietnam vet.
Air Force.
Retired mechanical engineer.
Interesting guy.
Intelligent.
He is a Deist.
He doesn't believe in Divine Revelation.

Five  minutes down the road after his telling me this and I was like:
"Wait a minute, if you don't believe in divine revelations?
Then how did you come to be a Deist to begin with?" :-).

Haven't asked him yet.
We're just becoming friends so I'll wait a while before asking him.
Not looking for trouble or trying to stir up any shit, and I'll let him know that before I ask him, but I'm just curious what his answer will be, that's all :-).
(They call me The Seeker and all, ya know?, see below :-).
He also made the comment, "There's more than one universe, you know that right?"
I said, "The book says he created "The Heavens".
"Huh?"
I think I caught him off guard there a lil bit it seemed liked it anyway.
Like nobody else ever had a comeback for that comment or something.
"HeavenSSSS, as in plural."
"Oh."
And then we went right on to more small talk :-).

Had a great day really.
Redid the route I had taken the last time I laid the bike down.
Made it without incident this time :-)
Gone from 12 - 7:30.
Not that long of a ride really, we stopped and talked several times along the way and just took our sweet time.
Told him bout us :-).
Pretty sure he believed me.

Glad the demons from laying the bike down the last time have been silenced :-).
It's like, "Okay, you got me last time, I got you this time, lets just call it a draw and move on."

Here's a pic of the type of bike he rides.

68 years old :-).
Liquid cooled six speed automatic, no clutch, parallel-twin engine, no V-twin :-).
Five drive modes :-).
Sits to high and the tires are way to narrow for me but he likes it and looks good riding it and it's all the same wind and blah blah blah...

Now, how bout some ass cheeks for real for a change?

Well?

Isn't that just...Interesting :-) ?

Yeah,

whatever, guilty pleasure I guess :-).

Just love it, not them really, just the song.
So 80'sish ;-).

Likin'

these guys again these days for some reason.
I think Nich would probably like them.

"I wanna be adored" and "Waterfall" in particular.

Wearin'

this record out Lucy :-).

"Well if you set your mind upon it,
I know that you can.
You've got everything you wanted.
You've done everything you planned.
So let me make an offer,
I'm only trying to help.
You can make your load Just a little lighter,
All you got to do is share the wealth.

Oh no don't you keep your Good luck to yourself.
Oh no don't you keep your Good luck to yourself."

(It's not luck though, it's blessings)

Isaiah 40 23-25

Matter of time Donald.

23"He it is who reduces rulers to nothing,
Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.
24 Scarcely have they been planted,
            Scarcely have they been sown,
Scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth,
But He merely blows on them, and they wither,
And the storm carries them away like stubble.
25“To whom then will you liken Me
That I would be his equal?” says the Holy One.

I'm telling you Lucy, convening that Grand Jury was Mueller's and a whole bunch of others telling "The Donald" and his administration:

"We're going to know what you are planning to do before you even get it organized, so you would be better off to start cooperating."

Now?

About those damn ass cheeks Lucy :-).

Love you sweetheart.
ttys.

Tell

me about it :-).

Really

happy that Kenney Easley got into the hall of fame.
He was a bad ass.

You know?

Trump is Trump, so you get what you bargained for.
Anybody that expected any different?
Well?

Whatever.
People had a lifetime of behavior to look at, why did they think he would behave any differently if elected?

Here's who I blame:

Every last one of them stood up on stage with him and didn't know how to handle a bully.
I've said this from the beginning, (ask Nich or others) the moment that most stood out to me during the election was the first Republican debate, everyone one of these persons was asked how they would deal with Putin. I'm sitting there thinking, "Putin?", these fucking nitwits can't handle the idiot on stage with them, how they gonna deal with Putin?"

These people and the Republican National Committee.
They allowed this shit to get out of control.
They sold out the soul of their party to win an election.
(Yes, dems did the same thing and lost, that's not what I'm talking about here.)

Chickens come home to roost much anybody?

Lets

see.
You start talking about fiiring me?
I impanel a grand jury.
Pretty clever.
Glad to see somebody somewhere has some brains.

Seriously, the first thing I thought when Dave told me about the grand jury?
I thought that's pretty fast no longer than Meuller has been heading this thing, usually it takes longer to get to this point.

So I go to the news to see how to spell Meuller's name?
This is there.
Promise you I was thinking it yesterday when I was told and only saw it when I went to check on how to spell his name.

But if it helps you mend,
then I won't stop it."

FYI

I'll be ready to leave in five minutes :-).

Seems

like somebody was saying something like this not so long ago.

I

thought I had put this story about this barbershop on here a long time ago but I can't find it so I tell it now.

When we lived in Owensboro I would frequent this barbershop in Wesleyan Park Plaza on a regular basis.
It had four barbers all of whom were always white every time I ever went there.
It was very conservative, wallpaper and the paneling that only came up half way on the wall and paintings of country scenes and hunting and hunting dogs and blah blah blah.

Well?
I moved away and I hadn't been there in years.
So I was going to be in Owensboro running errands (This is about two years ago now I guess) and needed to get my head shaved and beard trimmed and straightened up and just get cleaned up a lil so I thought, hey, I'll run by that barbershop I used to go to, always liked that place.

I opened the door and step in and the decor is now what would be akin to a sports bar lol. Helmets, jerseys, schedules, pennants, flyers the whole deal. I was like what the...
Then I look around, not a white guy in the place lol. I hesitated for a second before continuing on in but then I was like fuck it, you always enjoy a new experience and this certainly looks like it will be one and you need to get cleaned up and you're already here, why bother to go to somewhere else now?

By luck of the draw "Mr Williams" was my barber and I'm sitting there and we start small talking and I told him, "I haven't been here in years."
He just kinda smiles and says, "It changed a lil bit hasn't it?"
I chuckled and said, "Yeah, a lil bit."
Then he stops and takes a step forward and looks me in the eyes and says. "It got a lil bit darker didn't it?"
We both about fell out.
It was great.

Turns out he is from Harlan County where my dad was from.
Needless to say we hit it off.
I've only been there three or four times.
Yesterday was the first time in  a while.
Another barber was available, I politely told him I would wait.
Mr Williams looks at me, and I said, "You're from Harlan right?"
"Yeah", he says, "I thought you looked familiar."

Like Ricky says Lucy:
"Everyday is an adventure."
Yesterday sure was :-).

So

I went to the barbershop I like in Owensboro yesterday.

It's ran by this black gentleman now, Mr. Williams, it says on his shirt, he bought the place a while back when it was for sale, same place that Wendell Ford walked in that day I wrote about not to long ago.I always wait for him, whats the point in going to the barbershop if your not going to get all trimmed up by the guy you want to do the trimming?

So I get in his chair, four barbers there, five or six others, the show "Cops" is playing on  the TV.

These two cops see this guy get out of his car and it looks like he's fumbling with something suspicious in his hands. So they go over to him and start questioning him. This guy decided to run. So they tase him. Hes laying there on the ground all twitching and everything and Mr Williams says, "That aint nuthin but ODF, just plain ODF is all that is." So I'm sitting there and I ask, "Okay, gotta know, never heard of it before, what is ODF?" Mr Williams says, own damn fault, that wasn't nothing but his own damn fault. My dad used to say that to us all the time. :-).
