Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together...
By now I think most would know that I really like the website "Big Think" l always have sine I first ran across it a few years back, it's informative, educational, funny at times and with a whole range of topics that just happen to be right in my wheelhouse so to speak.
So why wouldn't I like it?
There's just no way to say it but to just come out and say it,
it's pretty obvious:
who this piece was intended for and why:
The real reason Socrates was given the death sentence
I've thought for a long time I was on their "radar" so to speak and now I have confirmation, and no, not from them or the article :-). Figure it out :-). Glad to know our reach is global at this point honey :-). People in charge of it might wanna ask themselves just how is that possible?
"It can also be defined as knowing the secrets of another person's heart.")
I'll get to the article here in a bit but first I want the people behind the big think web site to consider a few things:
One.
Would Socrates have known people were writing about him if somebody far away was doing the writing back in the day? (I know, there's no way to ascertain etc...just play along for a minute :-). If so? How do you explain that he did know? Ya just might wanna think about it for a second.
Two.
Did Socrates know in advance he was going to die for what he was doing and went ahead and signed on for the gig anyway?
If you think so?
Why would he do so?
And three.
How many bold predictions cutting against the grain of the experts of the day in their respective fields did Socrates make that were ultimately confirmed in his lifetime?
You see, all three of those apply to me/us
(yes I am including honey :-)
in our current situation
but I dont think any of them would have or did apply to Socrates back then.
Just try and keep all of that in mind as we work our way through things.
Now to the article:
"Socrates was charged with teaching the youth to “make weaker arguments appear stronger” and believing in idols or gods not approved by the state."
(More like the opposite in our current situation,
"exposing what appear on the surface to be strong arguments
appear weak.")
"and believing in idols or gods not approved by the state.'
(I'm not gonna worship your false idols
of Scientism ,
$ (paper),
fame,
glory ,
wealth etc.
This is what "the state" would have you do.
No thx.)
"...his real "crime" was interrogating the Athenian class of “experts” and exposing their ignorance."
(Yeah...pretty much.)
"...Socrates sought out those conventionally thought to be wise or knowledgeable and got them to relay their wisdom and knowledge through a series of questions. What Socrates found through questioning poets, politicians, merchants, and artisans was that such individuals were highly adept in certain respects — namely, those related to their specific trade or craft — but that, based on this limited wisdom, they erroneously came to believe that they were knowledgeable in all respects.
(Did you hear that Bill Gates? Elon Musk? Jeff Bezos? Tell me that is still not true today. There is a reason I was reading the Op/Ed pages of the Courier Journal at 9 years of age, knew who the US ambassador to the UN was in 7th grade etc.
It gave me a frame of reference nobody else has:
Romans 8:30
And those he predestined,
he also called;
those he called,
he also justified;
those he justified,
he also glorified.)
"To expose their lack of understanding, Socrates merely had to ask them questions outside their limited domain of knowledge, and they would go on to confidently spew nonsense."
(Yeah...and?
Whats the problem here exactly? We should just let billionaire bozos go on deluding the world with their nonsense that is outside of their realm of expertise's? I had a friend who was enamored with the fact that Ben Carson was a neurosurgeon when he was running for president. I told him I really didn't think the guy was all that bright. My friend responded, "But he is a neurosurgeon." I replied, "And? Just because you're an expert in one particular area doesn't mean you are that intelligent in others.")
"Socrates’ admission that we are eternally ignorant was genuinely the Oracle’s definition of wisdom and knowledge."
(1 Corinthians 3:18-19
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
Only the wise know how much they dont know.
Only fools would consider themselves wise.
Wisdom is a gift,
it flows straight from source,
PERIOD.
1 Corinthians 12:8
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom;
to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:6-10
Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect:
yet not the wisdom of this world,
nor of the princes of this world,
that come to nought:
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,
even the hidden wisdom,
which God ordained before the world
unto our glory:)
"Socrates the instigator
Given Socrates’ “religious duty to truth,” he couldn’t help but refute the charges in court by using the same type of questioning (now known as the Socratic method) that landed him there in the first place. Socrates himself said the Oracle had been guiding him all along in this duty, but that hitherto it had only appeared as a “voice”:
(Religious duty to the truth,
familiar with that...yup...lil bit.
"Socrates himself said
the Oracle had been guiding him all along in this duty"
Substitute God for Oracle and I/we have said/done and am doing the same EXACT thing.
I had a preacher tell me once the voice I was listening to was satanic in nature or that a "evil Spirit" had taken ahold of me. He was saying this out of his concern for me, that God didn't want people to live in the manner I was doing at the time. My response? "But it's the same voice I have listened to my whole life." Needless to say his position on this matter? Yeah...it has "evolved" a lil bit since that day :-).
"In other words, his
inability to conceal his authenticity
is because of such guidance,
which Socrates associates with the Delphic Oracle’s divinity.
(Yeah...substitute me/us for Socrates in that sentence and replace "Delphic Oracle" with Jesus Christ and we are on the same exact page.)
"Socrates’ authentic self — the expression of his “religious duty to truth” — is that of a man who always inquires, even if it is dangerous."
(Did he know, (as I did, and am on record as having said, very early on in the process of our current situation), that he was going to die for what he was about to embark on? And if so? Why did he willingly go ahead? I have those answers for us, what do you think would be his reasons if that was his circumstance?)
"As Socrates argued with prosecutors, it increasingly enraged them."
(Because he was spiting the truth they didn't wanna hear right at them.
Sound familiar?
Mark 13:11
But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.)
"Finally, at the end of the trial, Socrates began suggesting, ironically, punishments for his “crime.” At first, the punishment was to be a hefty fine, and his friends were willing to cover for him. Then, however, Socrates suggested the state either reduce the fine or subsidize his “religious duty.” They give him the death sentence, instead.'
(Knew how it ended when I first signed on
and went ahead and
did it
am doing it
and am
gonna keep on doing it anyway.
You see:
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for,
the evidence of things
not seen.
I asked Pastor Bridgette once, "If faith is whats hoped for but not seen? Then what do you call it when you've actually seen glimpses of it?" We neither one could come up with an adequate answer at the time. later it dawned on me. The Christian religion may or may not be your faith, but it is 100% MY REALITY. We are not the same I assure you.
And when you have experienced it in the manner I and others have? Then you too would have no choice but to be like Peter in Acts 3:11-26 and proclaim it boldly and loudly in front of others.
So?
Would Socrates have known what and why somebody was writing about him/(them)?
Do you think he knew in advance what was going to be his fate? Accepted it, and went ahead and exposed the foolishness of the experts of the day anyway? If so? What could have possibly been his motivation for doing so?
And?
(this is the one that really gives things away btw
as far as what entity is behind things with me and honey)
How many bold predictions cutting against the grain of the experts of the day in their respective fields did Socrates make that were ultimately confirmed during his lifetime?
Cause I got bonafides
(documentary evidence showing a person's legitimacy; credentials)
backed up from here to my residence a half mile away.
To many coincidences isn't a coincidence,
it's:
"evidence of things not seen"
Namely?
An unseen power worthy of reverence,
the designer of the information
that set the initial conditions/constants of the universe
and the laws that govern its physical existence
in place
as well as the information digitally encoded in your/all DNA.
I'll go Socrates one better again:
The one thing that is really not enjoyable about this "commission" is seeing through everybody's false intentions etc. and them still thinking, even after many times of having done so in the past, that you shouldn't be able to do so, or that you aren't able to do so.
One thing that's great about this commission?
Is knowing in advance when and where our end will come.
Revelation 11:7-8
The Witnesses Killed
When they finish their testimony,
(Three and a half years to the day after having "arrived"
on the scene together:
Daniel 9:27
"But in the middle of the week"
The two witnesses
"end"
coincides directly
with the antichrist proclaiming himself god in Gods temple.)
the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit
will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
In Jerusalem.
That part?
Is very comforting to me/us.
It should be to you too.
:-).
