When playing checkers?
(Got my butt kicked 2x last night BTW :-)
You gotta move a pawn backwards.
In order that you can align him up properly
and go in for the attack/kill etc.
(Thx Rick :-).
It's the same in life.
Life is a cha-cha
not a two step.
Two steps forward one step back
is still moving in the right direction,
just maybe not as fast as one had hoped.
All that being said?
Gonna revisit some things from this book.
Most were posted 6 or so years ago.
I knew it was true,
going to happen when I read it.
So what are your thoughts now?
And TY Diane for all of them.
They have been a big blessing in my life.
They all came into my life on the same day BTW.
Accident?
Not when you consider what I like to call:
"The totality of effect"
One is an accident.
Two is a trend.
Three is a pattern
a sportscaster used to say.
Taken by themselves?
Doesn't mean much.
But throw in the other
120 plus or whatever it is by now
coincidences?
(kinda hard to document and keep em straight
when you are living them constantly/continually)
And it's fairly logical to think that something special has to be going on.
"To many coincidences?
Is never a coincidence."
Lets get started and this time with some added commentary.
This is the one step back.
The step forward will come here in a bit.
(I hope:-).
Lets just consider what the book
The New Mystics
(2006 BTW)
by John Crowder says:
"Who still believes in the supernatural?
(The blood of Christ that gives you forgiveness of sins and admission into the Kingdom of God is SUPERNATURAL. Why people profess to believe in it but dont think about/believe in any other supernatural occurrences or revelation? It's just beyond my scope of thinking. Have a supernatural experience and go tell your preacher/priest/congregation. I bet you I can tell you what their reaction would be.)
"More tend to worship a dead God that lives in a building."
(Tell me it aint true.)
"But there is a generation of new mystics on the rise who will unlock the mysteries of God that have been sealed and hidden throughout the ages."
"This is because they do more than believe he is alive-they believe he is near..."
"They will walk in unprecedented revelatory power that will even put the first century apostles to shame..."
There is a rapid maturation process when one dwells with God."
"today , we still have hundred's of churches that are run by power brokers and businessmen who sit in the pews-good ol' boys and small town politicians who keep their pastors on puppet strings."
(Lived it for way to long, maybe you have too. Seen it first hand, "We call the shots here, OUR tithe carries a lot of water in this congregation, you'll do as we say, preach what we wanna hear, or well run you off" kinda thing. Yeah. f@#* that. It's why me and honey are bout to burst on the scene. We simply do not care who you are, what you think, what your last name is, how long you have been going to whatever church, how long the church has been there, how much alphabet soup you have after your name etc. It doesn't mean a thing to us. We dont have time to be concerned with any of that anymore, that kinda thinkin shouldn't have carried any water to start with. We are answerable only to God and to ourselves. If it wasn't for the former? You wouldn't have needed the later. Period. Get over yourselves, realize how late in the game it is, act accordingly. Desperate times call for desperate measures, not for attempting to maintain the status quo which seems to be what is currently going on.)
"Boldness is a sure sign that you really believe in the unseen realm...God is calling a people who will step out in risk and faith, even risking spiritual error at times."
(Preach like Peter in Acts,
let the pieces fall where they may.
If they wanna run you off?
Let 'em.)
"We have long made the mistake of not recognizing prophetic people for their gifting because we were expecting a "prophet" to be some kind of God-incarnate super-human."
(Elijah was a man like us James 5:17)
"Many condemn the revelatory things of heaven out of ignorance. Others reject revelation out of their own envy and selfish desires. "If this is of God, why wouldn't He speak to me first?' We can all fall into the latter trap. Pride and covetousness can cause us to quickly miss out on the Lord's work and not recognize the prophets he sends us."
(This one really disturbs me, even to this day. Here we are six years down the road from when I first posted these snippets, people in the community I reside in know what has happened, have witnessed firsthand the transformation of an individual right in front of their eyes and still to this day I get: "If this is of God, why wouldn't He speak to me first?" kinda attitude all around me.
Given:
Matthew 11:23
"if the mighty works,
which have been done in thee,
(In that location)
had been done in Sodom,
it would have remained until this day."
If you honestly believe in what time it really is getting ready to be?
And you believe in the book?
Why then this continued mindset?
It will cost you.
Fix the thinking process would be my advice.)
"When we have arrived at this state of trust, this state of faith, that no longer fears the outcome, then the desert no longer has power over us. Even as Jesus came forth from the desert in great power, so do we come forth from our dry places in great power when we have let the testing flames run their course."
(Almost there)
"My level of spiritual authority is only as great as the extent to which God has increased and I have decreased."
(John 3:30-36
He must become greater; I must become less.
"It's not about me/us" How many times somebody gotta say it before you believe it? Better yet? To those who would criticize? Come show and explain to me exactly how you have decreased so that God could increase in you? What kind of self denial have you displayed? How comfortable is your existence exactly? Love to hear all about it I really would.)
"What will the people look like who will actually do this stuff? Many of these guys will be absolute freaks." :-).
