"Fairy tales and Hollywood have deluded us into thinking that love should look like a white knight and damsel in distress or some other trope. And then if it doesn’t appear that way we reject it, even though those stories are elevating something not healthy such as co-dependency. She doesn’t need a white knight. And he doesn’t need a damsel in distress. What they both need is someone courageous enough to be vulnerable, supportive, and giving, and has the fortitude to work through things when they are hard. These are qualities of healthy, loving people who have a real shot. And I am telling you that this is what great love looks like. What do you think?"
