Spent some time

at the hospital yesterday

with some people

I haven't seen in a while.

The end result was,

I found out just how far I/we

have been removed

from this world.

Small talk,

chit-chat, logistics

and talk about

what was happening

dominated the day.

While all of that was going on?

The following

just would not leave

my mind alone:

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the

greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied:

“‘Love the Lord your God

with all your heart

and with all your soul

and with all your mind.’

8 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

I asked my son:

"Do you know what the greatest commandment is?"

"Dad?, I haven't slept, and I cant really think right now."

I told him that verse and I said to him:

Do you catch where it said for me to love you with:

"all my heart

and with all my soul

and with all my mind?"

He just kinda smiled.

I said, did you catch the part where it said

to love granny with:

"all your heart

and with all your soul

and with all your mind.’

He just smiled and said:

"It didnt."

I said thats right,

and people have forgotten

they are to love God

more than anything else,

 relatives included

and that we have strayed so far away

from this

that maybe God thought

we all needed a reminder.

Ref Matthew 17:11-13

(JTB had already came BTW

he's talking about the second coming.)

Luke 17:2

2 It would be better for them

to be thrown into the sea

with a millstone tied

around their neck

than to cause one of these

little ones

to stumble.

Talked about this in-depth already.

GOD DOESNT MISSPEAK.

He is perfection,

he is incapable of it.

If he meant "children"

he would have said "children",

It's not what he said,

he said

"little ones"

as in

miniature versions of himself

(Christ-likeness)

as much as a person

could be.

Martyrs, saints,

miracle workers,

visionaries,

all of those

who would freely give to others

without expecting anything back ever

and be persecuted/mocked/jeered ect

for having done so.

Literally, for all of those who have

"lost their minds"

for Christ.

(See Revelation 20:4

"beheaded".)

It would be better

for the individuals

who want to see them

(Little Ones)

fall/fail etc

to be thrown in the ocean

with a heavy large rock

tied around their neck

than to try and cause

their will to be done

instead of Gods.

Some have to learn the hard way,

just a fact of life.

(Side Note:

vs 3 and 4 go on to say:

3 Take heed to yourselves:

If thy brother trespass against thee,

rebuke him;

and if he repent,

forgive him.

4 And if he trespass against thee

seven times in a day,

and seven times in a day

turn again to thee, saying,

I repent;

thou shalt forgive him.

(I am going to tell you right now

even if you forgive people who

NEVER

asked for it?

(Going above and beyond

what the scripture says, see above)

Others will still:

persecute/mock/jeer

you for doing so.

Oh yes they most certainly will.)

Luke 14:26

“If anyone comes to me

and does not hate

father and mother,

wife and children,

brothers and sisters

—yes, even their own life—

such a person cannot be my disciple.

("Well that just means "Love less"

is what all the sermons

taken from the lectionary

and commentaries will say.

BALOGNA.

The word used there means:

HATE.

That is its definition.

How it is applied is shown by:

"Loving Less"

Somewhere along the way

we got definitions

and applications messed up.

See Matthew 17:11-13 again.

Also reference:

Matthew 10:34-36

"Do not think that I have come

to bring peace to the earth.

I have not come to bring peace..."

Plus?

"such a person

cannot be

my disciple.

We use that term

way to liberally.

Not everybody

is a disciple.

You got Church Goers,

Believers, Followers

and then you have those

that actually tried

to live like he did

while on this earth:

DISCIPLES.

(See: "all of those who would freely give to others without expecting anything back ever and be persecuted/mocked/jeered etc. for having done so." from above.)

Wanna know about God?

Read and study the scripture,

go to church,

take communion,

have an active prayer life,

be among like believers,

do good deeds.

Wanna KNOW God?

Then go live like he did

while he was here on this earth.

(But only do so

 if you are 100% certain

it is his will for your life

otherwise it wont work

and you'll just wish you didn't even try.)

Matthew 10:36

a man’s enemies

will be the members

of his own household.’

John 13:7

Jesus replied,

“You do not realize now

what I am doing,

but later you will understand.”

People just can not see

beyond flesh and blood

and they cant/don't/just don't wanna

acknowledge

The spiritual warfare that is so plainly

taking place right in front of them.

Needless to say

I just don't do

small talk very well.

Go read up about

the prophets of old

and you will quickly find out,

they were mostly elderly men

(usually single)

without a lot of family

(minimizes collateral damage)

who suffered,

were persecuted

and were misunderstood

by the people of their times.

Only later,

did what they do,

how they lived,

and what they said

and wrote

make sense

to a larger audience.

Me and honey

are in very good company.

"Drew?

Why didnt you just get a job

and leave a bad situation?"

Ask yourself;

Would you have witnessed

the suffering and the patience endurance

thats going to be expected of us here real soon

if I had?

The easy way out

was just never an option.

Hopefully?

Some things make

a lil more sense now.
