long and short of it all
is this:
The kingdom of God comes
BEFORE
any:
Relatives
Luke 14:26
If any man come to me,
and hate not his father, and mother,
and wife, and children,
and brethren, and sisters,...
he cannot be my disciple.
any comfort:
Luke 9:58
Foxes have holes,
and birds of the air have nests;
but the Son of man
hath not where to lay his head.
Before your very life:
Luke 14:26
If any man come to me,
and hate not...his own life also,
he cannot be my disciple
Before any and everything
you may have:
Luke 14:33
whosoever he be of you
that forsaketh not
ALL that he hath,
he cannot be my disciple.
And once you start?
There is no turning back.
Luke 9:62
No man,
having put his hand to the plough,
and looking back,
is fit for the kingdom of God.
Luke 14:28-30
For which of you,
intending to build a tower,
sitteth not down first,
and counteth the cost,
whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply,
after he hath laid the foundation,
and is not able to finish it,
all that behold it begin to mock him,
30 Saying,
This man began to build,
and was not able to finish.
Before anybody's funeral
Luke 9:59-60
Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
GOD DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR COMFORT LEVEL.
HE CARES ABOUT YOUR OBEDIENCE
AND YOUR FAITHFULLNESS.
It's not Sunday School
material.
It's material for
an advanced Degree.
Boggles my mind
how people can sit in churches on Sunday,
know these verses,
give their Amens! Etc,
and then see somebody
doing it right in front of them
and just think:
"Well he's just lost his mind."
Revelation 20:4
"...and I saw the souls of them
that were beheaded
(Lost their minds)
for the witness of Jesus,
and for the word of God"
How many times you gotta tell people
you no longer have free will
and simply
HAVE
to do what you are doing
before they believe you?
2 Peter 1:1
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
Jude
1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
"As a slave of Jesus Christ, that means
we serve Him,
not ourselves,
and not others.
We take care of ourselves, but it is so that we can better serve the Master. And we serve others, but it's because our Master has commanded us to do so.
It means we ultimately
don't aim to please others;
only Christ."
And if that offends you?
Well?
TOUGH.
We simple do not share the same reality and personally? We like ours better.
