So...

the last weekend I worked Brantley Security had a new security guard that Corey (young kid) was training to work the weekend night shift. Corey was moving to take Constance place as she got a job in the Kindred mail room. So happy for her and her family, she deserves it. Anyway, Corey was taking Constance slot on day shift so Ihsan was being trained. On my walks I always stop by to talk to the security guards (You think anybody else knows any more about whats going on in the place than the people working the front desk? I learned a long timer ago, make nice with the receptionist\guards etc, they are the first to know everything) so I started talking to Ihsan. Good English skills, could just tell immediately he was a nice guy. Turns out the guy had a degree in computer science and had just finished a short term project with Charter Communications in their NOC. Guy has done a variety of IT jobs, UNIX Admin etc. I was like "What the hell are you doing being a security guard?" He said he was just taking something to have in between projects. Guy was makin big money as a UNIX admin for some company in NYC and moved to Louisville to be closer to his mom.

After my walk it dawned on me that New Age had a Referral Bonus program, so I looked up the particulars. :-). $500 bonus a quarter for every quarter your referral sticks around up to $2000. So if the guys makes it a year? $2000. I went for another walk later and ran into Corey and Ihsan in the cafeteria. "You want a job?" :-). You should have seen his face light up. I could tell within minutes of meeting the guy he was a quality individual. He sent me his resume last Monday. I emailed New Age and told them I might have somebody they would be interested in. Within two minutes I had two replies lol. I knew their last hire wasn't going to last long. Everybody knew he wasn't going to make it. Then they had another guy quit. So now they were going to be down two slots. Ihsan had his interview Tuesday and was hired that day lol. He starts Monday.

Oh, so you don't like giving raises do you? 20 minutes worth of work = $1.00 an hour raise over the course of a year. More than one way to skin a cat Lucy. Funny how all these lil things just seem to keep falling in my lap.
Some might say it was just an accident or a coincidence. I know better. :-).

Love you.
