Zechariah 4
The Gold Lampstand
and the Two Olive Trees
Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up,
like someone awakened from sleep. He asked me, “What do you see?”
I answered,
“I see a solid gold lampstand
with a bowl at the top
and seven lamps on it,
with seven channels to the lamps.
Also there are two olive trees by it,
one on the right of the bowl
and the other on its left.”
I asked the angel who talked with me,
“What are these, my lord?”
He answered,
“Do you not know what these are?”
“No, my lord,” I replied.
So he said to me,
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power,
but by my Spirit,’
says the Lord Almighty.
“What are you,
mighty mountain?
Before Zerubbabel
you will become
level ground.
(I just can not emphasize this enough

The ax is already at the root of the trees,
and every tree
that does not produce good fruit
will be cut down
and thrown into the fire.
"If you are a big tree?
I am a small axe.
Sharp and ready
Ready to cut you down
Ready to cut you down"

But what to do
with our big tree
that has been cut down?
Matthew 7:16-19
By their fruit you will recognize them.
Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

with fabricated stories.
Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
Now back to Zechariah 4 finishing up verse 7:
Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of
‘God bless it! God bless it!’”
Then the word of the Lord came to me:
“The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple;
his hands will also complete it.
Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.
(Luke 14:28-33

“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
“Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace.
In the same way,
those of you who do not give up everything you have
cannot be my disciples.
Or as it says in Matthew Henrys commentary on Joel 2?
Those he (God) gives commission to?
He gives strength equal to that commission.
Draw your own analogies.
It ought to be pretty clear by now.
It will be built.
Christ new church.
You are 100% powerless to stop it.
“Who dares despise the day of small things,
(Remember that :-)
since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth
will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
Then I asked the angel,
“What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?”
Again I asked him,
“What are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that pour out golden oil?”
He replied,
“Do you not know what these are?”
“No, my lord,” I said.
So he said,
“These are the two who are anointed
to serve the Lord of all the earth.”
