The great smokehouse fire saga lol.

 

So our landlord is an old timer.

Uses the smokehouse he built

 10 years ago to preserve meat.

NOT COOK.

Preserve.

Old school shit.

Cool as a cucumber.

Here is the smokehouse.

The wood is "ship lapped" 

(wood is overlapped)

to seal in the smoke

 but yet

still allow some airflow.

Been in use ten years.

You can see by the black coloring

of the wood just how much soot, oils, grease

etc had accumulated in that time.

Our land lord was smoking a deer ham here this past week.

It's to complicated of a process to try and explain but we had assisted him before when he couldn't make it over to check on things. You really only have to check on it a few times a day, takes about four of five days to preserve the meat etc.

So a few nights ago, Mi upstairs in my office and I hear a blood curdling scream "HONEY!" Before I could even say anything, another LOUDER blood curdling scream "HONEY!" By this time I am already half way down the stairs, "WHAT? WHAT?" THE THINGY IS ON FIRE!"

Wat thingy? I thought, were not using the wood burner for heat. "THE SMOKE THINGY IS ON FIRE!" I went outside and I was about as scared as I had ever been in my life. If you have never seen an 18 foot tall, rectangular "PILLAR OF FIRE" near your home? I pray you never do. I am not exaggerating in the least bit. The structure itself was over 8 foot tall, and having worked around my share of job sites, the flames comin off the top were shooting A MINIMUM of 10 foot in the air. You gotta remember all the oils, grease etc that had accumulated over the years inside the smokehouse. We didn't panic but we were frazzled to say the least. We got our hose down to it and started putting out the fire. Honey called the landlord and him and his girlfriend got to us in a jiffy. THX GOODNESS. Now we had three people trucking buckets of water to throw on it plus keeping the hose on it, we got it to where it was apparent it was going to be manageable. Pretty soon the VFD showed up with a truck that had a 250 gallon tank of water and a high pressure hose, pretty soon things were starting to calm down.

You have to understand where we live, it's in the Hoosier National forest. There are two humongous hickory trees on either side of the smokehouse a lil behind it. 18 foot high rectangle of 5x5 fire aint no joke. I was worried about the trees catching fire, embers blowing on the backside of the smokehouse on the hill, not to mention all the firewood that was around the smokehouse,

AND THE TRUCK

 

THAT COULDNT BE MOVED 

OUT OF THE WAY 

CAUSE OF A DEAD BATTERY, 

ABOUT SIX FEET FROM IT!

And the 250 gallon propane tank 

less than 25 feet away.

And the wooden top floor 

of the storage area above the carport.

And the firewood under the tarp

and scattered aound various other places.

The fire department finished putting ever thing out.

Doused everything real good with water

and then went on their way

We went back inside eventually and tried to calm down

Honey was mulling over what she thought it all meant.

(Nothing is an accident in Christianity.)

I didn't have any objections to what she was offering

as meaning for the events, 

but I wasn't really sold on them either.

I have learned with things like this

it's best to wait a few days

before trying to assign meaning,

the meaning will present itself

at the appropriate time

Then yesterday I came to the library 

to get some things done

and I used a verse from Joel two  

(First chapter I ever 

did a commentary on BTW)

and when I saw this verse, 

it all became crystal clear 

what had just happened and why

and honey agreed:

JOEL 2

An Army of Locusts

2 Blow the trumpet in Zion;

    sound the alarm 

on my holy hill.

(Our residence is on a hill BTW)

Let all who live in the land tremble,

    for the day of the Lord is coming.

It is close at hand—

2 a day of darkness and gloom,

    a day of clouds and blackness.

Like dawn spreading across the mountains

    a large and mighty army comes,

(Gods army)

such as never was in ancient times

    nor ever will be in ages to come.

(What the world is facing

is a one time event.

It will never be repeated.

(We were standing 

in front of the

"pillar of fire"

to put it out.)

There is just no way to describe

what a 18 foot tall

roughly 5x5

rectangle 

of fire looks like.

The rectangle shape

flat out gives it away 

what was going on here.

Reference point for 18 foot:

Thats 12 foot 

to the bottom of that bird feeder.

Probably another 3 or four feet

to the top of the branch 

it hangs from

so that's about 15 feet.

Add another three feet

and you are starting to get an idea

of the seriousness of the situation.

Truck, trees, firewood, propane tank etc.

Plus?

It was roughly

5 ft x 5 ft.

Base it was built on:

Simply put?

IT WAS 

INFUCKINGSANE!

You'll never know just how much

unless you were there.

Then, last night

 some other things 

started coming back to me

that I had wrote about in the past

when no one was listening 

except honey and a few others:

Exodus 13:21-22

By day the Lord 

went ahead of them 

in a pillar of cloud 

to guide them 

on their way 

and by night 

in a pillar of fire 

100% exactly

what we witnessed.

to give them light, 

so that they could travel 

by day or night. 

22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day 

nor the pillar of fire by night 

left its place 

in front of the people.

Somebody 

is trying to tell you something.

Oppose us.

And watch what happens 

to you.

Revelation 11:3

And I will give power 

unto my two witnesses, 

and they shall prophesy 

a thousand two hundred 

and threescore days, 

clothed in sackcloth.

etc.)

It didnt.

So you can flat out quit

who that verse is about.

We are the two witnesses.

It is a team.

All about meekness.

Don't mistake it for weakness it's not.

Meekness: Humbly patient. 

Doesn't mean they won't stand up when they need to.

So?

"...Imaging a whirlwind. 

A small one perhaps. 

You just look out the window 

of your farm one day and there goes this little whirlwind

in the field where the beans recently got harvested :-). 

(Some people should know where that image came from :-). 

Not a tornado, just a small dust up of dirt and such. 

Only it's not dirt and dust, 

it's pieces of a jigsaw puzzle 

that make up this whirlwind. 

By some supernatural ability, 

even though it's far off in the distance, 

you can see what's happening. 

Each piece of the jigsaw puzzle is a bible verse and some of the pieces get put together 4, 5, or 6 of them or what have you, even more sometimes, then after you've read them? They break up and are individual pieces again. 

This whirlwind comes and goes and each time you see it you get different verses (pieces) put together that you were supposed to see. 

Then? It vanishes again, till it reappears. 

It appears and reappears without warning either, 

so yeah, expect it to show up any time. 

Cause it's great, 

crowded room, 

nothing to write with, 

"oh here ya go, have you some 

"understanding", 

hey don't blame me, 

you asked for it."
