i've been riding fences for so very long now
afraid to take chances try something new
playin' it safe girl stayin' far away from you

 

but it's been a long winter...
and spring is comin' soon
and lately i've been thinkin'
a whole lot 'bout you

 

these trails i know so well
of late have been growin' stale
it's an age old tale
'bout which i'm sure
you've heard a few

 

out there on his own
in the cold and rain
never took a mate
and now it might just

 

be too late

 

but if you like to dance
i'm ready to take the chance
and get out on the floor
girl it's you that i adore

 

i know i'm a little prickly
weathered and worn
too many blisterin' summers
on the long and dusty trail

 

seen far too many blizzards
years out there on my own
but this cowboy's sure of one thing
his heart needs someone
it can sing to and that
someone girl is you
